Thanks for bringing this problem up. I don't have an answer for you, but I'm also wondering why there isn't an equivalent for this available in the new look and feel. They shouldn't be removing themes without replacing them. I rely on the old look and feel editor because none of the new themes provide a plain basic theme to start from.

Thanks @SurajK! This is on the right track, but the code seems to require that the respondent changes the answer value. We don't want to exclude the starting position from being their choice to continue. They should be free to choose the starting position as their answer choice, but we want them to actively make that decision.
For contacts, the drop down menu for the contact list allows you to "Move List" to the group. https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/contacts/managing-multiple-lists/#ListOptions For libraries, you can go into the "gear" settings of individual items and copy to the group library, but you'd have to change the reference to the group-owned library for everyone to see it.
@sdesilva the Qualtrics page on survey flow has a great step by step procedure on saving embedded data - as long as the code is already saved to the Contact List, you can use it in parts 2 and 3 by saving the code by setting embedded data in the survey flow.
I also like this feature - I use the personal link generation feature to test the survey as if I were several different members of a contact list. It is most important for me if there is display logic based on different list members' metadata - I want to make sure that the survey behaves appropriately for different members of the list. I also like to test the "anonymize response" feature to double check that the contact list names and emails don't populate in the data after the response is recorded.
@TomG thanks, good point! Yes, in a research setting that would be very beneficial. Our use case was atypical, since we were using this for a quiz where we wanted everyone to have a truly random set and prevent cheating, so we preferred to not evenly present the elements.
@Libertywick I'm glad you found this useful! I ended up not being able to use the code in practice, however, since we had an additional requirement that the participants had to be able to move forward and backward through the whole survey, and the branches in the survey prevented this. For future surveys where moving forward and backward is not required, it's perfect!
@EmilyRose from what I have experienced, the "save and continue" option in Survey Options only works prior to a user submitting a response. Once they submit, they can't go back to the same link and continue. I think it's meant for anonymous link users to return to the link at a later time and continue working on the survey where they left off (only on the same browser and computer they started on), but not after they submit the response. The retake link option allows the participant to edit their response after it's completely submitted. As for the authenticator, you would want to use something different than the email address, since anyone who knows their email address could access their responses. The authenticator allows participants to retake the survey, but does not automatically load previously saved progress if they have already submitted the survey. To get previously saved responses to load after the respondent has submitted responses, I would recommend doing the following

@EmilyRose great question! I just helped some colleagues with an online application that allows people to save (submit) and return to edit later using a retake link. They showed me the resource on how to create a retake link The survey is configured so that anybody can start a submission through an anonymous link. Respondents can always come back to edit their submission through the retake link that is sent through an email. The retake link repopulates all of their answers from the last submission and you can configure the link to overwrite the last submission or not. Though it's not as ideal as a static portal to log in, they can come back and edit this way.
This procedure requires them to submit their response first, but here goes: you can add the retake link to the end of survey message and have responses coming from that link overwrite the last response. This works for both anonymous and emailed distributions. @AnthonyR thanks for your reply! I agree - I do most of my coding externally and copy and paste, but wish I could make small edits within the editor. I contacted Qualtrics to put in a feature request for a more appropriate editor font back in 2016 - hopefully if enough people also have this issue, they might do something about it!

@Akdashboard sorry I wasn't clear when I wrote "Set embedded data for blocks" - I am creating embedded data variables that can be used to reference which block to present later on. Variable B1 for example, will control whether I present Block 1. Variable B2 will control whether I present Block 2.

With your help, I was able to do the following: I used one randomizer to set embedded data for 13 blocks: Randomly present 8 of the following elements: - Set Embedded Data B1 is 1 - Set Embedded Data B2 is 1 - Set Embedded Data B3 is 1 - etc. I then used a second randomizer to present all blocks in random order: Randomly present 16 of the following elements: -Required Block - Required Block 2 - Required Block 3 - Then Branch if B1 is 1, then show block 1 - Then Branch if B2 is 1, then show block 2 - Then Branch if B3 is 1, then show block 3 - etc. for every single block For the second randomizer, you present all 16 blocks because the branching takes care of the display logic for each of the blocks that were not chosen.
How about a question that allows multiple drill downs side by side? Currently you can only have one drill down at a time.

@Barnaby @KatC The Group Contact List feature is really useful because it's the only way I know that multiple people can see, share, and update/edit contact lists and messages. Too bad there's no easier way for people to share a live contact list without an admin getting involved.
When uploading the password, try to make sure that the password column is called "Password" and not something else like "UserPassword." Usually this allows the subject upload to automatically detect the password column. A way to double check is when you preview the upload, make sure that the drop down menu item Password is highlighted. On a PC, you will know it's recognizing the password correctly because the text of the variable name will be in black font, just like all the other system variables like Email, FirstName, and LastName. Any custom variables you add will show up in blue font on a PC. When I've tested this on a Mac, there is no difference in color between system variables and custom variables - so be careful with that.
@SaraC I agree, along with norming data, our reports would also benefit from percentile ranks, and that also seems to be missing from the 360. @AnthonyR I think that is a great idea that might work if you have very simple averages in the normed data, but many times the norm data is a complicated mix of items across several questions and for particular relationships. It would be difficult to get averages like "7.41" to show up from multiple questions with the right error bars showing up.
To protect the anonymity of the direct reports, we use display logic to hide the relationship altogether. This is achieved through Rater Category Display Logic when you edit the subject report -> Report Options. Use the logic to "Hide Direct Reports if Direct Reports has fewer than X responses." In order to include the responses combined with other relationships, I would display the comments using a data source that combines all subject evaluations.
I would recommend using "Mark as Done" found in the participants tab -> click on the person's name -> Actions. Marking as done closes out the self-evaluation, nomination task, viewing report task, and prevents reminders from going to the person for subject tasks. If you also wanted to remove all nominations and convert the person to an external participant, you would use the "Person is External Evaluator" option.
