Autocoding Verbatim Responses

Does anyone have experience implementing autocoding for verbatim responses in Qualtrics (by auto coding, I mean giving the tool a list of acceptable verbatim answers that'll essentially automatically code verbatims into a hidden multi-choice question)?

Custom validation message based on character count

Hey all - Hoping to get some help here. I want to be able to put a custom validation message in for text entry questions that don't hit a certain character count. I know through the UI you can either use the UI for character count OR custom message, but not a character count validation WITH a custom message. Any thoughts on how to do this? Thanks!

Automated Emails with Data

Hey all! I know that in Research Core you have the ability to send yourself (and others) emails with results/reports on a regular basis, but is there an automated way to send yourself data/data files? For example, if possible, I'd love to be able to send myself data from the past week every Monday.

I just updated the text in my email distribution. However, when I send myself the preview email, its still sending the wrong text. Any ideas as to why this may be the case?

Programming/Fielding Multi-language/market surveys

What are your best practices for fielding multi-market/multi-language surveys in Qualtrics? When you have different quota limits and localization of some questions for each country, do you find it easier to program the countries as separate links? Or keep them all in the same link and make adjustments there?

Zero Filling

Hey All - I know zero filling (0's showing up in data when they should be missing data, as well as 0's not showing up when they should be) is an issue that Qualtrics is actively working on solving. In the meantime, do you have best practices/tips/tricks for adjusting the data on the back end?

Gap Analysis Question Type

After digging around some more in the platform, I stumbled upon the gap analysis question type. Have you used it before? If so, what is your preference of using this vs. a grid with follow-up question using conditional logic? And how does the data compare on the back end?

Will placing a bookmark in preview mode record the data from questions answered?

When using the bookmark feature in Preview, if you place a bookmark a few questions into your survey and questions later on depend on answers from those questions, when you use the bookmark feature, will it carry those selections through? Or does it not record and you see all answer options? E.g. If gender is one of my first questions and I place a bookmark after gender, if I were to click my bookmark, but have a question later on that shows certain rows just to males, would I see just the male rows or all rows present in that question?

Relabeling in Public Quota Dashboard

Is there a way to relabel quotas in the public quota dashboard? With the newer format, it's pulling from the question/row text or image location when used to build, and is a bit difficult to decipher when trying to quickly check in on quotas.

Image labels in datasets

I use brand images in my surveys as rows but have issues with the recoded names consistently showing up in my datasets. I don’t want to include the text for the brand next to or below the brand image in the row itself. How do I make it so that I can sort out which brands I’m looking at in my dataset?

What is the significance of the _group and _rank vars for Pick, Group and Rank questions? Is the _group the bucket you place the row items into and the _rank where they fall within that bucket? How do you all interpret these vars when reporting?

Text entry in multi choice questions

Any thoughts on how to solve for the scenario when you have a text entry option in a column multi choice question? It makes the buttons sit a little wonky (below). ! In the past, what I've done is anchored my "other" option to sit where "option 3" is (below), but curious to know if anyone else has another solution! !

Hey all - Quick question. In the data and analysis tab, once I've filtered my data to get to the responses I want to download, I go through the process of downloading, yet none of my filters hold and I end up with my entire dataset. How do you make sure your data filters are applied to the download? Thanks!
