I will show subjects some texts with links. How can I know whether the subject actually open the link and how many times they open it? Similarly, if I show the subjects a video, how can I know they actually played the video?
It is said in Qualtrics description of Timing Question, metrics like Page Submit will be additive if the respondent is viewing the page multiple times, by exiting and reopening the survey. It is true when I tested it using Safari; However, when I tested in Chrome, metrics Page Submit only recorded the time I spent on the page after I reopened the survey, but the time I spent before I closed the survey was not recorded. Also, using Chrome, if I made some choices on the page, and I closed the window before the I hit the submit button. Then when I reopened the link, it brought me to the page where I was left, but the choices I made on the page before were gone. This is not the case using Safari. The choices I left on the page were still there if I closed the window and reopened the link. Why?
After showing each page, I want to show a corresponding block on the next page depending on the date information of the responder working on that page. In specific, If DayInfor == Monday, then next show a block named Monday. I will have to do this 'if then' branch for 7 days of a week after each page. Since the embedded data name is the same as the block name. I wonder if there is an easy way to call a block by the block name as a variable. A custom code I am looking for which I can put into JS of a question in that page or in the header is like,If(DayInfor == Monday){Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.showBlockByName ("DayInfor")}Does this API method 'showing block by their name' actually exist? My survey has around 200 reading paragraphs with each paragraph displayed on a page. I want to record the date the subject visited each page/paragraph. If the date the subject visited page N is different from that of page N+1, then I would ask them a few questions in a block called 'experience block'. The issue I am having now is that, in the survey flow, I have to do the above 'if then' condition check after each page. Since I have 200 pages/paragraphs, I do it 200 times in the survey flow. Now I am going to extend the length of pages/paragraphs to 300. I do not want to repeat 'if then' hundreds of times again in the survey flow. I am asking for help if there is any shortcut, convenient way that I can do to avoid writing 'if then' hundreds of times in the survey flow? I guess something like writing the 'if then' within a for loop function which runs on every page would be a solution. I wonder is there a solution like this? If so, where I can write this for loop function?

When the recipient works on the 1st block shown to them, I want to display a message before they work on that block like 'This is the 1st block.' When the recipient works on the 2nd block shown to them, I want to display a message before they work on that block like 'This is the 2nd block.' Is the order of the randomizer recorded somewhere where I can access and save it as an embedded data so that I can display it to the recipient while they work on the survey?
I want, only for one specific question of the whole survey, to change the surface color of the choice after selecting the choice. The question type is multiple choice with a single answer. So far the default color after clicking on the choice is purple. I want to change the color to red or blue according to the value of an embedded data in the survey. How can I do it? It is said I can add UserAgent in the survey flow to record the agent's browser and device information. I wonder if the agent using different device and different browsers in different pages of the survey. Which page's browser information is recorded in UserAgent? I added UserAgent in the beginning of the survey flow before the first page of my survey is shown. Is the answer depending on where I add UserAgent as embedded data in the survey flow?
I add Javascript window.addEventListener('blur') and window.addEventListener('focus') in each page to record the timestamp of blur event or focus event triggered by the respondent. Whenever the window is blurred, I appended a new timestamp of 'blur' . So if the page lost focus and got focus twice, I will have a sequence of the timestamp for losing focus and getting focus as:1st losefocus 2020-04-17 23:14:541st getfocus 2020-04-17 23:15:132nd losefocus 2020-04-17 23:15:222nd getfocus 2020-04-17 23:15:28But weirdly, sometimes I will get the same timestamp for 'lose focus' and 'get focus', or these two timestamps are super close (See an example below). I don't think that within 1 second, a respondent can at the same time first lose focus and then get focus back. Does Qualtrics survey internally have the information of which browser the respondent is using? If not, can I write Javascript to detect which browser the respondent is using?

Timer question seems to record the duration spent on that page. Is there any way I can record the time focused on the page, meaning the page/survey website is on the front page of the subject's window, and the tap of my survey is active. It seems that if I build website/app feedback, "time focused on site" is accessible, but how can I record this information as well in my survey in the survey platform?
I made 20 questions here and randomized them. I only display 1 of 20 questions to the responder. Now I see the actual displayed question to my 3 responders. All of them got the same question displayed. Basically, the effect of randomization in my design failed. What is wrong with it? I allow subjects to do multiple completes for my survey. My survey has 2000 questions, and answer type is text entry. Subjects will have 2 weeks to finish the survey. Since the survey is super long, they can always continue the survey from where they are left with before. I understand that multiple completes works for storing the information of where the subjects are left with in the survey is through browser cookies. I am concerned that, since my survey has so many questions, will browser cookies reach a limit at some moment, as a consequence, the browser fails to remember where the subjects are left with before? I just want to make sure that there is no problem of using multiple completes for my survey with 2000 questions.
I want to display to the respondent one of the randomly selected questions of the whole survey (100 questions), and his/her choice of that question. What I did but failed, is that I set a question ID to be embedded data randQID = ${rand://int/1:100}, and I replace question ID in the piped text with my randQID in order to display that randomly selected question's choice description and its selected choice. One randomly selected question is ${q://QIDrandQID/ChoiceDescription/1} or ${q://QIDrandQID/ChoiceDescription/2}, and your choice is ${q://QIDrandQID/ChoiceGroup/SelectedChoices} What should I do to make it possible?
What I am thinking is to save the score of that question as embedded data, and then if the answer is incorrect, branch to a new block saying 'it is a wrong answer, please go back', and hide the 'next' button by adding Javascript. Is there any alternative easier way to do that instead?
I have a long survey in which a responder can work on it for several days. I want to display a specific block if the responder opens the survey in a new day. So I need to detect whether the day when the responder reopens the survey is different from the day of his last activity on the survey. Note, not the date which including the hour, minutes and seconds, ONLY the day, like March 20th. I tried to use embedded data but failed because it compares between the dates instead of the only DAY. Is there any alternative way I can do that? Thanks a lot! !
Since my survey is super long, it needs the subjects spend 10 days on it within 2 weeks (every day 30 minutes), meaning skip Saturday and Sunday. For example, a subject opens the survey on Friday and continue to work on it from where he/she was left with on Thursday. But if he/she wants to open the survey on Saturday and want to continue to work on it from where he/she was left with on Friday, a message pops out 'you cannot work on weekends'. But when the next Monday comes, the subject can continue to work on the survey from where he/she was left with on Friday. Is there a way to do that?
Hi, besides "next" button build in Qualtrics, can I have another "do-it-later" button shown together with "next" button on the same page? The reason I want to have "do-it-later" button is that my survey has hundreds of pages and it may several days for the responder to complete. So I want them to have the option to do it later. At the same time, when the responder decides to do it at another time, I want to collect their experience with the survey they have so far, so once the "do-it-later" button is clicked, I want to show two questions at the next page. When the responder reopens the survey, the survey should direct them to the next page to the page where they left.
In my survey, I have 500 pages with 5 questions on each page. I want to add one more question and the same question at the beginning of each page. As my survey has too many papes, is there a way to do it automatically instead of manually copy+paste that question on every page for 500 times in total? It seems that the feature "loop & merge" can repeat a question but one question by one question, but not one page by one page. I wil really appreciate the help!
All my questions (in text) and answers are saved in a json file (downed from a machine reading comprehension dataset). Is it possible in Qualtrics to automatically generate questions based on this dataset file? If so, how?
