Engaging a dormant/inactive community

I agree with @bansalpeeyush29 ! There's an opportunity to pull some back in with the explanation and I also think folks may appreciate that sort of acknowledgement/ transparency. It also sets up the expectation of what's to come and may increase future participation.

New to running cross-tabs, several things I can't figure out how to do

You can do this in Data & Analyses -> Data. Click the tools dropdown in the top right followed by the "create new field" option. From there, it seems like the "bucketing" option might be the best for you. See screenshots below! ! ! ! ! !

Adding Survey Metadata to Analysis

Hi There! Quick follow-up question... Are you wanting to tag those folks? Or have you already tagged them and want to filter them out? If its the former, you should be able to go into data and analysis -> data -> click the tools drop down on top right -> create new field and use any of the methods in the pop up to tag them. From there, you should be able to access that new var in your crosstabs. You can also access the create new field functionality by hovering over the current var (in data & analyses) and clicking the green plus sign that appears... should be the first option on that drop down as well. If its the latter, once you run the cross tab, you should be able to access the filtering option on the top left of the page.

Reminder Green but doesn't say sent

Preview Email Not Updating

@KatC It was actually that I hadn't saved the new email. Silly me. I was in there editing, went to send the preview, and it was sending the old email because I hadn't saved the new one!

@macbridel YES! I also love the option to view both a mobile version and a desktop version on my screen. Though I still typically have someone else test on mobile, it gives me a head start on sifting through mobile UX issues prior to testing on mobile.

Autocoding Verbatim Responses

Thanks, @AnthonyR. I used to do a bit of python coding on the back end of my old tool for this, but wasn't sure if there was something already implemented/a known solve here yet. @MartyK Nothing would be showing to the participants. It's more of a back-end bucketing thing... takes some of the work out of hand-coding responses, if that makes sense?

Programming/Fielding Multi-language/market surveys

@MarkD @AnthonyR — Wonderful, thanks so much! This is actually what we do in our old tool too! I'll be working on migrating our trackers over during the next two months, so I'm glad to see that that process works well for both of you. We also do our analayses for these projects externally, but its great to know that there's an option available should we need to pull it back into Qualtrics!

Best Tip/Trick for Qualtrics Qubie?

I guess I should post mine... :D Embedded data is your friend! Once I realized I could bucket people in my survey flow with branch logic and embedded data and then turn around and use the embedded data to create nice and neat quotas (ones where you just saw the name rather than all the question logic), I was a very happy camper.

@AnthonyR as for #2, you're right on — I was envisioning a multiple select (single answer) where they select an item off of the shelf. It's more for UX/simulating a shelf than it would be for any fancy/additional data.

What is something custom or innovative that you would love to see another user build

@AnthonyR Here's the thinking behind #1... please excuse the awful ppt drawings — hopefully they'll at least help to visualize. The goal would be for the axes to almost be like hidden scales, where the programmer can define the meaning of the two ends (maybe something like "Exciting" to "Dull" or "Expensive" to "cheap", etc. etc. ). The participant would then be able to take the row items (be it brands, attributes, etc.) and "plot" them in the chart. Because the hidden scale points are there, we'd be able to triangulate on the back end where each of the points landed on both scales. In talking to my analyst here, on the back end, perhaps they are binary vars? Or two sets of scaled vars? Ideally, we'd want something that we could transform for use in a factor analysis. Let me know if that makes sense. ! !

Thanks, @AnthonyR! Here's my initial list. More to come... 1) Quad Chart Plotting - I'd love to have a question type where you (the programmer) can define the two axes and then have participants plot items in that chart. 2) Some sort of shelf/shopping simulation. I'd love a question type where we would be be able to simulate a shelf so that you can ask participants which item they'd pick/buy and/or notice first... what sticks out to them. Let me know if these make sense!
