New to running cross-tabs, several things I can't figure out how to do

How do you run cross-tabs on actual value questions? And how do you add new categories to actual value questions to be used as banner points (e.g., Millennials vs. GenX vs. Boomers)? Also, I need to create Geographic Region groupings from my state drop-down list. Adding groupings (NETS) is generally something I need to do a lot.

You can do this in Data & Analyses -> Data. Click the tools dropdown in the top right followed by the "create new field" option. From there, it seems like the "bucketing" option might be the best for you. See screenshots below! ! ! ! ! !
