When creating a Custom Metric in a CX Dashboard is there any way to do a distinct count? I have a number that is entered by survey participants and is unique to them. Occasionally we have repeat participants and I want to be able to create a data viz for certain fields that shows a distinct count of responses. It seems like this should be an easy thing to do, but I can’t see any way of doing this? Any suggestions?
I am looking to create a drop down question so people can select from a decent sized list of options. It would be great if I could make it a search bar that automatically populates letters as participants type. I am not a Javascript person, so if anybody has an exact screenshot of how this would look in the JS editor, if this is possible, it would be awesome. Thanks!
I am trying to recreate Recorded Date in an embedded data field so that after some data cleanups/re-uploads I can preserve a filterable date in one spot. For some reason when I select Date under embedded data options and then selecting a value under Current Time, nothing is being generated during my survey responses. If I change it to a text field, it works fine, but if filtering options are available under a date field, I would prefer that. Any suggestions?
Hello,I am trying to send out an emailed survey through the distributions tab. The problem I am running into is that I am using an organization specific link to send out and Qualtrics will not allow me to ONLY use that link, I have to keep standard one too in order to send the email. I even tried making ${l://SurveyURL} white text so it wasn't visible, but in my test email, it didn't hide it. I am starting to use supplemental data through an imported data project in a survey and I just realized how limited the autocomplete is. If a respondent does not type out the choices exactly how they start out in the database, then it won’t pick up the choice:Example in Database: State of Utah-Utah State LegislatureRespondent Typing Example that wouldn’t recognize the example above: Legislature……. Does anyone know of a workaround for this or perhaps I just need to make a feature request?
What do I need to adjust in the logic shown in the image above so that if a respondent DID select an option in a drop-down question that pulls from my supplemental data source it would not mark it dbProcessed=review? Basically I want any newly entered text responses to be marked for my review, but if they select something that already exists from my database, it would leave it as dbProcessed=true as I would not need to review those answers. I have ‘Select Free Response’ checked in my text question.
I have a survey that cuts off a large portion of information when respondents use Safari. Has anyone experienced this or found a solution? Here is some additional information if it helps. The screenshot shows where it cuts off and should have about 15 more rows of information. 1. Survey is accessed by email using a retake link 2. The information not displaying is in a text description question 3. Some custom CSS is used in my survey !
I have set up some custom pages in the Results section of my survey which are used to look up survey records. It would be great if the search filters on those custom pages could populate records based on similar results and not just exact matches. For example, let's say I was trying to filter by Semester. An exact match record for Fall 2022 would have to be typed exactly as Fall 2022, but it would be great if all I typed was 'Fall' or 'fall' and all fall records would populate. Does anybody know of a solution or workaround to this, it would be a great help!
I tend to find that there are quite a few pros and cons of email triggers vs email actions. I have a fair amount of email actions in my surveys and I have to make copies of those surveys (6) changing the values of embedded data fields from one to another and a few other specific changes within my survey. I could make it one big survey, but it would basically be insanely big with a fair amount of variables within the survey. That being said, I prefer to use actions versus emails primarily because I can copy Actions within a survey and cannot copy triggers within a survey (unless somebody knows a way?) and I can also name them something that makes sense visually. The nice thing is that triggers remain when copying a survey. It would be really nice for me, however, with the large amount of actions there will be in each survey, if those would copy when I copy each survey to edit a bit, then it would save me some time (some will be 40 or so triggers in each survey) Any suggestions?
Hello,Has anyone had the issue of using a reference survey multiple times within the same survey and then suddenly the questions are still showing up again, but the answers that were selected earlier in the survey suddenly stop displaying? The answers need to be re-displayed for the purposes of updating/editing previous responses. Historically, I have had random, glitchy things happen with reference surveys, but it really is the best option I know of because I have to potentially re-display the reference survey several times for each record in my main survey and I have a lot of logic that I need to re-use over and over again in the survey flow. The only solutions I have found so far are temporary but eventually break again. If I remove the survey from a certain part of the survey, re-add it and then publish, the previous participants answers start showing again, but it eventually stops working correctly. I can also just add the blocks within the reference survey, but then I lose th
We have a survey that is used as a student application. I get a fair number of applicants who put in invalid email addresses and/or put themselves as a contact name when it should be someone else. What is the best way to validate using the following as an example:Q1: Enter your emailQ2: Re-enter your email and if it matches Q1, it will pass validation. Q3: Enter your nameQ4: Enter the name of the contact person and if it does NOT match the name in Q3, it will pass validation.
How do I use the action of clicking a graphic (see below) and have that be the only be the only action possible for a question? I have tried a few question types and cannot quite get the result I am looking for? I simply just want somebody to have the option to click this image (as the only option in the question and no other clicks) and then that action would be like a question selection that can be used in logic or even like hitting the next or submit button at the end of a block? I would just make this an end of block custom text button, but I want it to be an optional selection. This one might be simple, but I was playing around with a few question types and couldn't figure it out. Thanks in advance for your help.
I used this calendar picker question from the Qualtrics library. I don't like the shading of the active month numbers when people pick a date. Is there any way to customize this? I tried messing around a bit with primary and secondary color in the style section, but that didn't seem to fix the issue? Any suggestions?
This could just be some basic regex code, but I am not too experienced with that. To explain further, I am trying to design an embedded data editing feature as I use Qualtrics as an application system. I want to allow for embedded data field/s to be overwritten if the user types something in optional text box questions, but want to avoid people making an overwriting mistake by clicking in a text box, but then deciding not to enter any information. I thought of a branch logic using a MC question with a text box (see below) and the user would have to check the box and also enter text for the embedded data field to be overwritten, but I could see people still making mistakes that way and it isn't really user friendly. Any suggestions?
I get contacted about 10 times a month by people who get the Qualtrics Internal System Error when trying to perform some of our surveys. 100% of the time the fix is having the person clear their browser history data. I guess what I am wondering is if there is anything I could do on my end to make this happen less often or maybe even an explanation to help me understand what specifically causes this issue relative to browser data? Also, does device type matter relative specifically to this issue?
I have a link in my survey that opens a new window when clicked on. If people are SSO logged into our system and click on the link, it takes them to the destination page without problem. If they are not logged in, after they login the link will just take them to a more generic landing page. Is there anything I can do in HTML or perhaps another way that would allow me to ensure they still land on the correct page after logging in?
I need to pipe some text from a previous question into an essay text box question input area and am having a hard time getting it to show up. I know the piped text is correct because I have tested it outside of the essay box question in the same section. Are there restrictions on doing this?
I have a few results reports we reference. Anytime I add new questions or embedded data to my survey those items automatically start showing up in my results reports on the left hand side of the results and I have to go in to each one and manually uncheck them. Is there a setting to prevent this?
In embedded data I store customized URLs for participants within my survey as I use my survey as an approval flow chain. Is there a way to change the way the embedded link displays? Hello,I am trying to create some custom links in survey flow that would be viewable in my data and analysis tab, but I am not having any luck getting those to show up, i just have empty fields? Basically I want to create a custom URL that would be the entire Retake Response URL you find in the Data & Analysis tab plus whatever is added to the end of that URL based on the conditons/progress of the survey. Currently, anytime somebody wants me to resend or forward a link to them, I am manually adding some embedded data (e.g. &permission=Approver1) to the Retake Response URL and then sending it off. This doesn't seem like a great long term solution especially with typos or just messing something up. It would be great if I could automate this process a little more. Hello,I am trying to re-upload a date field from a csv into Qualtrics so that it matches the format of my date optioned embedded data field ${date://CurrentDate/DS}. I am doing this with hopes that I can have one FILTERABLE date location that doesn't get messed up during uploads like the Metadata date fields do. I have tried so many formats in an effort to upload but it just won't allow me to successfully import. If I open my data in a text editor for that column it shows the format 2020-09-17 17:13:56 (although excel recognizes any date field as m/d/yy h:mm) How do I have to format my cells so that it will import? I have tried several ways including YYYY-MM-MM HH:mm:ss. Also, is there anything that can be done with ${date://CurrentDate/DS} such as using -6 or something to account for the UTC time difference format? How would that be written? This isn't a must for me, but it would be nice as our department likes to filter by an accurate timestamp.
I see one of my email actions is doing this in the Actions reporting. I couldn't find any info about this on the support page? Is this useful or helpful to know?
I have a question in which I only want to pipe in part of text from a previous answer. Here is my scenario: Q: Please select a semester: Fall (August to December) Spring (January to May) Summer (May to August) I then want to use piped text in an email action to just say either Fall, Spring, or Summer and not have that extra info from the question. I would just use an embedded data through an API, but asking this question is a unique circumstance. It seems like this could be done somehow with so kind of reverse embedded data setup, but I want to ask and take into account all considerations before I start experimenting
Hello, I am using Qualtrics as an approval system. Whenever one of our staff writes out instructions to a student in a essay text paragraph question it is formatted the way they want it, however, when an email action is sent with the results of that question it does not keep the same formatting. For short messages it isn't a big deal but sometimes there are a lot of instructions and the formatting looks terrible. I have included a couple of screenshots below. Essay Text Question in System: !
