Can I prevent the automatic adding of new questions or embedded data to results reports?

I have a few results reports we reference. Anytime I add new questions or embedded data to my survey those items automatically start showing up in my results reports on the left hand side of the results and I have to go in to each one and manually uncheck them. Is there a setting to prevent this?
