Constant Sum where the maximum TOTAL allowed is 1500

I have a list of 10 items with individual prices in a constant sum question and I want to set-up a custom validation so that if someone picks items that total more than 1500 an error message informs them they have exceed the maximum allowed and to choose items that total 1500 or less. I tried the 'custom validation' option and entered '<1501' but that doesn't work. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Mobile App Native Survey using API or other resources

I am being asked if it possible in our mobile app to collect user input inline in the app and return the results as survey results. In other words in our mobile app use our buttons and ux controls to gather input then map and pass that back as a survey results. We want to avoid leaving the flow of the app. Any advice, pointers, thoughts would be appreciated.

Combined Fields

I’m using the Field Editor to combine multiple columns of survey data. According to Qualtrics documentation, when combining fields from a multiple choice question Qualtrics will bring in the recode values rather than the actual text of the survey choice.  Is there anyway to change this? For the data set that I’m using the numeric recode values are meaningless and what I really want to see are the concatenated values from the different questions.

How to remove the numbers under the stars in a slider question?

I created a slider question using the Stars slider type. Qualtrics is showing a number under the first and last star (it does not appear when building, it  only appears when taking the survey or in preview mode). I would like to remove the numbers but cannot figure out how to. I tried using the code which I found on a similar post, but it did not work for mejquery("ul.numbers").hide();

Recovering embedded data from seed value

Hello! I recently re-ran a conjoint experiment using code from 2021 which seems to be no longer compatible with Qualtrics (see post here). Unfortunately, the embedded data for the traits within my code did not save (although this has previously worked with the same survey code in the past). The embedded seed values did save (seed1-seed5). I believe I can still recover the randomized attributes provided to respondents given the seed values and javascript code. However, I am not sure how to do this. The code is below. Any insight on how to recover these values would be greatly appreciated.The code below is just a sample of for the 5th conjoint profile. This was run five times, with five different seeds, and correspondingly five different trait pairs (traits1a + traits1b …. traits5a + traits5b)Further, any insights on how to properly save this embedded data in the future would be great as well. Javascript not working with survey in different languages

I have a survey translated from English to multiple languages. The survey uses some javascript. Now, the javascript does not seem to work when taking the survey in a language different from English. Any idea what’s going on here/how to correct this? Cheers

Add Maximum or Minimum Requirement

Hello,I have a Text Entry Question and would like to add a Min & Max Requirement. However, I have four values for the requirement of which it should either be the lowest or highest that is taken as the reference value. So I would like to enter four Piped Text fields of which either the lowest or highest value should be taken as the requirement.  Is that possible? Thank you very much in advance.

Allow respondents to deselect their answer for side-by-side questions with single answers?

Hey all,I have a block in my survey that uses the side-by-side (SBS) format where respondents can only select a single answer within each of the seven columns (i.e., there are seven separate questions). I have asked respondents to leave the question blank if it is not applicable. However, if respondents accidentally select an option (that is, they select an option when it does not apply to them), then they are not able to deselect the option - within the data, it looks like they intentionally selected the option. I don't want to make the questions multiple-select because then respondents can select more than one answer in each of the columns. And as far as I know, there is no way to enable the "mutually exclusive" option when the questions are in the SBS layout. Is there a way around this? A Javascript code, perhaps? Any help/suggestions/etc. would be much appreciated!Edit: My supervisor does not want me to alter the scales in each question by adding an N/A option.

Automating creation of a side by side question by referencing values created in Javascript on a previous question

I am using Javascript to dynamically change the text of the first cells of the first column of a side by side question to values extracted from an array of objects. I have used code before to render tables based off of selections in side by side questions in the past that have been modified in this manner, but am attempting to trigger creation of a side by side question referencing values added in Javascript on the previous question that will include only the values selected with new selection options. I could use carry forward the values if I entered them manually in the first question, but there are potentially thousands of values and this would would be tedious. I’m not sure if what I’m seeking to do is possible using the Qualtrics api or custom code and appreciate any help.

Customized slider tooltip with underlying equation (constant sum)

Hello!I have created a constant sum question with 8 sliders. When moving the slider handles, the outcome is updated live and based on a calculation in the next text question. Now I added a tooltip box to the sliders, which I want to fill with the following: The previous question QID37 is a text entry question (number), I want to use the number inserted there to be multiplied with the slider value and the result to be divided by 100 (basic rule of three). The resulting value should be shown in the slider tooltip box, changing dynamically depending on the handle position (maybe even a “km” added behind the number). I tried using a mutation observer, but when I included it in the js code, my outcome was not updated dynamically anymore (and the tooltip box stayed blank).I am really grateful for any help with my code! How do I verify a survey is anonymous

I have been asked to fill up a survey and I am concerned that it is not anonymous as being informed.Is there a way for participant to know if their confidentiality is really protected? Or we do it by blind faith?

Change embedded data based on which choice is selected

Ive made an embedded data in the survey flow, now i want to change its value based on which choice was selected in one of the questions. The choices are  (Yes, Maybe, No). i want to change the embedded data value to “text1” if they choose Yes or Maybe and change it to “text2” if they choose No.This is what i tried so far. Randomization of question with different probabilities like 10% , 20% and 40%

I have a requirement to show a set of embedded data in question with different probabilities like 10% , 20% and 40%  , selected at random .Is it possible to implement this using Qualtrics base features?One more thing , since the respondent will be asked to choose from two options where embedded data will be piped is there a way to exclude "Dominant option” so as it forces to rerandomize the option again?. For example: If option A will have all the dominant criteria's that if shown respondent will choose this only?

Creating personal links for Marketo list using API

Dear community,I'm currently working on the standard integration between Marketo and Qualtrics to synchronize personal links from Qualtrics to Marketo. This implementation is working correctly and I can sync the survey links to Marketo (following this documention).But, this link sync can only be triggered manually from the Distribution tab of the survey. The Qualtrics Support Team also confirmed that the generation of personal links can be automated to run with a scheduler (e.g. once a day).Therefore, I would like to automate this using the Qualtrics API. I don't have much experience with the Qualtrics APIs. That's why I would like to ask, if we have APIs to create personal links that would allow me to add the needed configuration, such as "Marketo list", "Marketo lead field", embedded data, etc.Thanks for the helpBest regardsJose

Play and Stop button for Timer? JavaScript

Hi all, I have to create a Play and Stop button for the timer only to start and stop when the respondent presses the button. I also want the respondent to see the time as they do what they have to (part of an experiment).I see there is a way to do that with JS, but I'm not familiar with this language. How to send partial response fields to external system instead of complete response payload?

Hello all,I am new to Qualtrics and was looking on Survey - Survey Flow - Webservice option and had a few clarifications on this topic.So ideally I understand that this webservice element will be triggered only on accessing the survey link based on the placement of the webservice element in the survey flow. i.e. Survey first - Webservice call second.My scenario is vice versa of above one, where Webservice call is first and then later call the survey. To achieve this I have an external system that calls JSON Event on the Actions tab of survey to create a contact and create distribution and individual survey links to access survey using Qualtrics API.I am able to achieve this partially, but facing issue on how to send few response fields to external system API instead of sending the complete Qualtrics API response payload from Actions tab as I don't want to call the survey until the responses data is passed to external system.We have the option to fire and forget from survey flow - webse

Forced Response with Custom Validation

I have a set of constant sum sliders that looks like follows: ! My issue is that forced response is not working. Previously, I had "custom validation" set as "is not empty," and it was working. But if I do that now, the validation fails no matter if the responses are empty or not. Does anyone possibly have any idea what I can do?

My videos automatically open in full screen on mobile. Is there a way to fix this?

The videos work well on desktop (no full screen), but on mobile they automatically open up in full screen, forcing participants to minimize the video. I'd prefer this not to happen but haven't found a way around it. I do have my videos autoplaying, so that might be involved. These are videos I've uploaded from my computer and not from youtube. I've attached the HTML of one of them below. Thank you for any suggested solutions.

Integrating a jQuery slider doesn't work

Hi everyone! I'd like to integrate a Slider into my survey from a jQuery library (this one - https://xdsoft.net/jqplugins/range2dslider), but it doesn't seem to work. As I understand jQuery is included in Qualtrics, so there's no need to call it in the header. This is the code I'm putting inside the "add JS" window: jQuery('#slider').range2DSlider({ template:'horizontal', value:[[5,0],[7,0]], onlyGridPoint:true, round:true, axis:[[-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10]] }); Any ideas would be very much appreciated! How to add a date 'stamp' with signature?

I am asking participants to fill out a form and sign it (using signature field). I would like a date stamp there,..it seems awkward asking them to fill in a date. After I get the pdf, I sign and date it and return it. Any advice on adding a 'date' stamp? thanks, Chris
