Qualtrics reporting

I am trying to set colors/font etc for text area in qualtrics reports but i can't setup it globally for all reports. Do you have any solution to setup it globally ?Also, do we have any option to calculate 25th/75th percentile in the report?

Validating a question on "next" button click

I have some custom validation that I want to execute when the next button is clicked. If the validation passes, I want to go on to the next question, if the validation fails I want to display an error and prevent the "next" action.I triedjQuery.on("click keydown submit", function(){ var goodToGo = myvalidation(); return goodToGo;});Returning false if to prevent event bubbling, but this did not work.Other suggestions?

Using Javascript and setEmbeddedData to store answer to question containing apostrophe

Hello - Not sure how to properly do this.I have a question where one of my dropdown selections contains an apostrophe.I need to store that answer to an embedded data field using Javascript.Is there a proper way to do that? How to configure DKIM in Linux CentOS 6.10 with BIND9

Hello,We're having an issue implementing DKIM in our organization to use custom FROM email addresses. We are not familiar with DKIM evidently. Anyone willing to help us figure out what we're doing wrong.Our IT team went to lengths to let me know what they've done, see below:Our external DNS runs on a Linux server running the CentOS 6.10 operating system and BIND 9. DNS entries are maintained by editing the zone file in the /var/named directory and then restarting the named daemon.In this case I edited the zone file to include the TXT record you provided:qualtrics._domainkey.universitydomain.edu TXT "v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=......thescretcodegoeshere......."DNS itself it pretty straightforward. I don't know if there is more to what it means to "publishing."I already went back and forth with Qualtrics support (Ticket ID: 8MG0171F7OOL) and their support doesn't extend to helping us with validating our DNS setup. Any help would be appreciate it!

Any ideas how to dynamically add/link questions from one survey into another?

Hi AllHope someone out there has any ideas on how to do the following:Scenario: We have standard templates in Qualtrics which we initiate via API on another tool. We now have a business request to customize these surveys. Ideally we want to have a set of 10 questions that users can pick from. These questions will then need to be added to the standard template (we do not want to create various templates - 1 template only), via the API and this is then sent to the respondent.Any ideas on how we can do this? pipped text? Branching? suggestions are very welcome - willing to test and try anything to enable this.Many thanks in advance😅

Force Response on Matrix Tables

Hello, I am building a survey on Qualtrics which uses matrix tables. I have forced response for the table. However, it is not always clear to respondents if one question within the table has been accidentally missed. I would like to have an error message that pops up to flag which of the questions within the matrix table they have not answered. Is this possible with custom code? Currently, I only receive an error message for the whole table ("please answer this question"). Thank you!

How to install autoplay and invisible controls video

Hi all, I am really struggling installing autoplay for a video I copied from one of my other surveys. Also I want my participants to not be able to pause, forward and replay this video. I read a lot of other rubrics already but nothing I try seems to work properly. Currently I am using this code:https://portsmouthpsych.eu.qualtrics.com/*FILEURL*" type="video/mp4">This way, the video does start playing automatically when I am editing the survey (also the controls are not visible), but it doesn't work in the preview or the published version. Did anyone else experience the same thing or can someone help me with this?

Regarding the real time response in Qualtrics filters

Hello,In our current system, we are using an event subscription mechanism to get the user response in our system. In this flow, we are also using the Qualtrics filter to filter out the response that doesn't match our conditions. So if the response doesn't pass our conditions, we won't store that in our system.For getting the filtered response we are using the below-mentioned APIS:1) Get survey progress id: https://iad1.qualtrics.com/API/v3/surveys/survey_id/export-responses2) Get survey file id: https://iad1.qualtrics.com/API/v3/surveys/survey_id/export-responses/progress_id3) Get survey filtered responses: https://iad1.qualtrics.com/API/v3/surveys/survey_id/export-responses/file_id/fileSo when we get the call from the event subscription that the user has filled the survey. At that particular time, we are calling the above-mentioned APIs to check that a particular response has passed our filter or not. How can I correct the survey so there's an equal number of respondents in the 3 sample groups?

I branched and randomised respondents into 1 of 3 question blocks and ticked the box so that there would be an equal number of respondents in each. Unfortunately, after I published the survey, some of the responses I've had back were rushed and had to be deleted from the results. This has left me with a different number of respondents in each survey group. How can I correct this issue, so that there is an equal number of responses in each survey group?One idea I've had:-Duplicate the survey twice. In both duplicates of the survey, only allow respondents to enter 1 of the survey groups, then publish. Hopefully, if I share each survey (survey group) to the right number of people, I'd have an equal number of respondents in each survey group.Is there a better way to get round this issue and would the idea above even work?Thanks for reading and have a good day

Fields That Are Exported From Qualtrics

In my work, I export various reports from Qualtrics about once a week. When I open them up in Excel to begin processing, there are so many useless columns that I have to delete every single time. Headers include "End Date", "IP Address", "Duration (in second", "Latitude", "Longitude", etc. Is there a way to format my exports so that they don't include these columns? The usable data from my exports doesn't start until column R, and it's getting tedious to have to delete all these columns every time I export the data. Thank you!

Email Task - survey response triggering event.

From the Qualtrics website on triggering an email task, it says the task (in this case sending an email to the respondent with a link to a pdf) can be triggered after answering a question (partial completion of the survey) if the response to the question is recorded. Specifically, I have a question at the beginning of my survey that if selected should send an email with a link to a pdf of the survey. I would like that email to be sent after the answer to the question is recorded as opposed to the respondent having to complete the survey, which would require the respondent requesting a new link to the survey and me sending a email with a link for the participant to retake the survey. My testing of this email task requires that I complete the survey in order for an email to be sent. Any thoughts on how I can get the email task to trigger when the respondent selects the question and the answer to the question is recorded (in this case its the first question in the survey). Locking a text field after the respondent has provided an answer

Hello,I have been trying to include some JS code to lock the text field after a response has been entered, but I have only managed to lock the text field altogether (i.e. respondents just can't enter any text). Going back to previous question/block without allowing changing previous response

Hi guys! I want to make a survey such that:participants can go back to previous questions: this is already achieved through [Survey Option] - [back button]participants can see their selected answers but CANNOT change them I found this thread very helpful https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/3848/restrict-changing-past-answers which used a genius way that somehow "freeze" a question when the "next" button on that page is clicked. It basically defines a piece of embedded data "Flag1" as an indicator, andWhile it works perfectly for multiple choice question, this methed seems not to work with sliders and text entries (and probably some others). I suppose some slight adjustment should make it work. Sadly, I know basically nothing about JQuery and very little about Javascript, so I really don't understand what exactly is going on there.Does anyone have any suggestions?

Web Service Task to external platform failing authorization

Hey folks!I'm setting up an external Web Service Task via survey Actions but I'm hitting a wall. The external API I'm posting to (Smartsheet) requires a token. I have put the token in the web request using the "Auth" dropdown field as instructed by the Qualtrics documentation. The response I get from Smartsheet is "403 - You are not authorized to perform this action."To test that I was understanding the request correctly, I tried the request using Python's request module and succeeded. Change display text in drill down with javascript

Hello,Is there a way to change the text of a specific "layer" of a drill down text with javascript?I have a drill down where people choose a Workshop category first then the Workshop topic then the Workshop date but I also have a 4th layer that has only 1 option that has text that I want to change from the user's view. The actual choice text is a zoom link that I need to store but I don't want to show that to them yet. It will be emailed to them later. Is this possible?

Create Variable to Count Multiple Completes

I'm setting up a survey with authentication and it allows respondents to complete the survey multiple times. Every time the respondent complete the survey, they will be redirected to the survey again for a second round, then a third around. They will collect a badge for every completion. After they collect three badges, they will be eligible for rewards. So we would like to count how many times a respondent has completed the survey (the number of badges collected). I tried embed variables (e.g., recipient response count) in the metadata but none of them worked. What will be the best solution to count the number of multiple completes? What will be the custom code for calculating the distinct count?

Easy way for respondent to tick lots of horizontal checkboxes quickly in a side-by-side question?

I have a side by side question with lots of horizontal checkboxes. (I'm pretty tied to this layout)The respondent may have to tick lots of boxes in a row e.g. all of the highlighted boxes below - which could be quite painful for the respondent.Is there a way using JavaScript for a respondent to be able to complete the question quickly.e.g. could they click one box and then when they click on a second box it selects all of the boxes in between?e.g. or could they hold down, say the shift keyor some other way??

I get an unexpected page break after questions with javascript

I have written some simple scripts to act in the place of display logic as it does not work for what I am trying to do (in page logic based on embedded data), but although my scripts work as expected, I get an unexpected pagebreak mid-block after my set of javascripted questions. This breaks my survey as all the questions in a block must appear on the same page. Carrying forward drag and drop responses

My survey will involve completing 2 drag and drop questions - the first requires participants to drag and drop statements into one of three boxes ('important', 'unsure', or 'unimportant'). The next drag and drop question requires participants to sort the same statements into one of 11 boxes. I would like the initially sorted three groups of statements to be carried forward to the second drag and drop question. But when I try to carry forward answers, it only gives options to bring forward certain items rather than bring them all forward but display them in the three sorted groups. Any help with this would be great!
