Table of Contents / Show two blocks on same page

Hi All, I am trying to setup a table of contents that the user returns to after finishing each block. I've used some java script to change the 'next' button to return to the table of contents. However, I've learnt that for the tick box to appear next to the item completed in the TOC you have to not just finished the current block but you have to move onto a new block meaning you have to complete 2 blocks. So that also seems to mean you need at least two pages per question / section. Is there a way to display two blocks on one page or a better way to control the return to the table of contents after each block whilst still maintaining the tick marks? I would also like to make it so that you don't see the 2nd Block in the table of contents - is that possible? How can i disable alert

How to set the limit of selected choices?

I use javascript to set a Multiple Answer question. I set that subjects can only select 5 choices. When they select 5 choices, the unselected choices will be disabled. When I preview the questionnaire, I find that the code works in the browser view, but it fails to work in the mobile phone view. What's wrong with it? How can I solve this problem? Thanks a lot. How to implement a slideshow in a survey

I need to add a slideshow into my survey for my senior thesis. I don't know much about java but I do have some knowledge of HTML. (not much). If I wanted to do this, where do I actually add this into my question? I know that I can find other pages for how to make a slideshow, I just don't know how to insert that into my survey. Thank you!

I didn't add css to the ul I wrote, but why is li horizontal and there are no black dots, it shouldn't be vertical and there are black dots, what should I do? ! thanks a lot!

Parse Contact (transaction) details from API call into csv or similar

Hi All, I need to download and create a CSV file with all contacts and all their embedded and transaction data. The embedded side is easy. The transaction side looks much more complicated and involves API calls. The website https://api.qualtrics.com/docs/using-contact-transactions-in-target-audience#list-contact-transactions gives a basic overview of the call however I am no python / Java programmer so don't really know how you would parse that data into a csv file to import and interrogate it in the likes of excel. However I do quite a bit of coding in VBA so given a basic script I am sure I can work with it and get it working. The problem is I'd need to consider looping through all the attributes which may change over time (or is every contact given every attribute even if it's not populated?), assuming not, I'd need work out a way that would collate this. If however, someone already has a script for Excel / VBA I'd be very grateful if you would be so kind to share that with

Two questions about slider questions and labels

For some research I am currently working on, I am trying to replicate the following two visually-represented questions in a Qualtrics format: ! Right now, I have created two slider questions with graphic labels (graphics of the two items) and have used some of custom Javascript code provided in another post to anchor the label on the left-side of the slider. I also experimented with breaking up the visuals associated with the original items into 2-3 labels with Javascript coding to anchor the labels to both sides of the slider scale, but they were less visually similar to the original questions; also, I tried adjusting the visual sizes, but the slider scale auto-adjusts to any changes. Here is what my current Qualtrics questions look like: ! Indicating a Section is Complete in the Menu View

Menu Completion Check marks: Once a section is complete, and the check mark is placed next to the completed section, it moves the text of the section name to the next line. Is it possible to have the check mark remain on the same line as the section name? Also, where can I find the setting that places a check mark next to a completed section?

progress Bar with verbose text

Because I hid a topic at the beginning of the questionnaire, the respondent saw that the Progress Bar with verbose text on the first page of the questionnaire did not start from 0. How should I solve it so that it can start from 0? thanks a lot!

Add a close button to Thank you page

For the native mobile app SDK survey, I added a custom end of survey message with a button to close the survey (in addition to the "x" on top that closes survey). I would like to hook up the action to close the survey on clicking the button. I know I can add an onClick to the button, but how do I trigger the survey to close from javascript?

Piped text formatting issue (essay text questions and tables)?

Does anybody know of an effective way to contain text on an embedded data piped page within a survey or an email action to have text maintain originally typed paragraphs/formatting? I see the issue with the results of an essay text question or embedded data brought into a 1 column/1 row table that I use in an email action (because otherwise it just strings the text all the way across the email unless I am setting it up wrong)? This probably makes little sense so I will attach a screenshot. I am looking for all of this information to be divided by paragraphs like it was originally typed and not like this. !

How to adjust survey footer spacing?

Hi, I'm housing a survey inside a small popup creative. I'm using a survey theme that's as condensed as possible so that everything will fit nicely in the small creative window but there's still a lot of white spaces below the Qualtrics logo that I can't get rid of. The extra white spacing in the footer is causing a scrollbar to come up in view in the creative - is there any custom CSS to control the spacing in the footer? Esp below the Qualtrics logo?

How to make scroll bar visible at all times?

I was able to insert the following JS to create a scrolling list of answer choices on my multiple choice question: Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnReady(function() { jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .QuestionBody").css({"overflow-y":"scroll","height":"615px"}); }); However, the scroll bar is not visible until the participant mouses over the answer choices and tried to begin scrolling, making it a bit unclear that this is even a scrolling list. Is there a way to insert some additional code to make the scroll bar visible at all times?

How can I set up an email invitation with link to two different surveys?

Hi everyone, I am in process of distributing two surveys to a long list of contacts. However, I would need to let them choose which of the two surveys to take based on their response to a specific question (to be included in the mail). I know that I could have opted for a unique survey using a question/initial condition for splitting the two surveys, but the structure of the surveys was quite complex and now I would not like to loose too much time with changes. Does anyone know how I can solve this issue? I have tried to copy and paste the two links in the standardised email form but once the email is sent they both direct to the same survey. Moreover, I would not like to use the anonymous link since I need to track other information from the contact list. Many thanks for your help, Best, Patrizia

Trying to make an internal time card and am stuck on reporting

I have an internal timecard with SSO authentication. The survey has 1 question asking if they are clocking in or clocking out. I need the report to have a table with columns for name, whether they clocked in or out, and the date and time the response was recorded. I am having issues creating a report like this. Recorded date only wants to display the date without the time. Additionally the report wants to group responses with the same name together, but I would like to keep them separate. Any ideas for how to accomplish this?

Sequential Blocked Randomization

Hi there, I am trying to assign subjects to one of the 10 treatments (as they arrive) based on information that they provide at the beginning of the survey. So in the beginning, I collect information on race, age, gender, education, etc. and then I want to make sure that these covariates are balanced across treatments. I came across this paper which goes into using rpy2 API using Qualtric Web Service for achieving this. However, for some reason, I can't get to make this method work (Qualtrics does not set an embedded field even after the Web Service is run). My question, is there another way of doing sequential blocked randomization in Qualtrics? Or if somebody here has done blocked randomization in Qualtrics using rpy2 or any other method?

Live update an average of sliders as user's fill out form

! Hello Community! I am working on the above qualtrics survey and I am trying to figure out how to get it to average all of the sliders as the user fills out the form. Basically we are providing a grade, as if on a math test in college, but that grade is calculated based on the averages of these 9 sliders that you see here. I am interested in understanding how to get it to show the evaluator the student's live score as they update their response. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I have 3 x 3 Multiple Choice question. I want to change the background color of the first colomn in this matrix. How can I do it? And I am also wondering how I can change the setting of just a few choices in specific positions. But I don't know where I can get to know the id of the choices in the Multiple Choice matrix I set? Setting more than one embedded data variable using Javascript

I've been trying to set embedded data from a loop and merge function. There are three fields in the loop and merge and I am trying to have all three set to three different variables. I am using the same code for all three, but only field 1 is setting. All of the embedded data variables I want to fill are labeled and empty at the top of the survey so that's not the problem. Offline app - javascript alert messages not appearing in Apple app

I have a survey I am trying to test on an iPad using the offline app for Apple. The survey has javascript I am trying to test by I am not able to get alert messages to appear and there is no console to print things to. Is there a way I can get javascript alerts to appear? They are appearing on the survey using the Android offline app.
