How can I customise the option 'add white space' in matrix tables?

does anyone know how to customise the option 'add white space' in matrix tables in order to change the grouping of statements? Is there any code to apply?

Not aware of such option to customize whitespace using code. But what you can do is: Use two matrix tables and in the second matrix table you can replace the question text and choices text with blank spaces. This would achieve the desired result but with a little more whitespace in between.
