Has anyone found a way to remove the answer container completely?

Looking to use the multiple choice - single answer, horizontal, graphic question type but I want to remove the semi-transparent grey answer container around the graphic. Any suggestions?

How to track the overall time on page and auto-advance after that time

I have several questions on the one page, asking for correct answers. So I set the correct answers as the question validation. But I also want to implement auto-advance to proceed when it reaches the time limit, in case any respondent cannot figure out all the answers within the time limit. I also added one validation condition as Timing-Page submit time greater than a certain amount of time. But now the timing format is set as the time after clicks, rather than the overall time on page, which leads to the time on page being recalculated whenever the respondent wants to proceed to the next page but with wrong answers to any of the questions. Is there any way to calculate the overall time on page, rather than time after clicks, and allow the page to auto-advance after this time?

Is it possible to use an Interactive Image using JavaScript

I am currently trying to determine if a research project I have coded independently to run on a specific server can be transformed to work in Qualtrics where I could have more control over the project. Below I have described what I would be attempting to do with some visual references. I apologize in advance for any confusion my description may provide. I have tried to be as clear as possible. I am currently designing a research project that would allow participants to interact with an image by rotating the image on the horizontal axis. However, the actual mechanics of this process requires there to be two images, one overlaid on the other. Image A would be the rotatable object, however, this is actually one large panoramic image that has been parsed into specific segments. Image B is the "mask" image that covers everything except for one segment of Image A at a time. Participants would be able to "rotate" Image A by clicking or dragging a bar to move the window of Image B one segme

Javascript image load not working on consecutive pages

Hello! I am using javascript to select and present an image to the survey respondent. However, using the exact same javascript and HTML codes on two consecutive pages does not work - e.g., You would see the first image on Page 1 just fine, but on Page 2, the same image does not load. If I insert a random page in between Page 1 and 2 (e.g., a page with some text), Page 2 image loads fine. However this disrupts the flow of the survey, so I'd like to avoid doing that. Has anyone else experienced this? The HTML and javascript codes are attached. The attached codes are simplified versions of what I'm ultimately trying to do - hence the slightly convoluted code (like if-then conditionals). I sincerely appreciate any help on this! Thank you.

Issue with embedding JavaScript-based behavioral task data into Qualtrics

Hi all, I’m running into some issues with embedding participant data from behavioral tasks that were coded in JavaScript (JS). Previously, we were on a different survey platform (SurveyGizmo) that allowed for a lot more custom scripting. I’m hoping to have the behavioral task data embedded into the participant’s Qualtrics survey data, but it’s not quite working. The tasks are coded in JS and hosted on an external site; the tasks are embedded into Qualtrics using JS (see code below). An "easy" way to use the same survey for different embedded data fields

Hello. We have a survey sent to employers several times a year for each of the student interns they employ at their company. In the past, we have just emailed the anonymous link to the employer and asked them to fill it out for each student (1-6 at each company). The issue is that student first & last names sometimes are not spelled the same, so there is manual clean up required on my part to ensure the dashboards will summarize ALL of a particular student's data. This year we would like to use email distributions for each of the employers to fill out the evaluation, pre-populating the items like student name. We have XMD, so I know I could format the employer contact information with StudentEmployee1, StudentEmployee2, etc -- and can create a contact list for each group based on StudentEmployee# "is not empty". The problem is, how do I get the survey to default to the correct choice? So -- the first email the employer gets defaults StudentEmployee1 information; second email is

Displaying loop based on answer from a previous matrix question

Hi, I have a matrix that pipes in statements into a matrix - there could be between 1 and 3 statements (products). If a user selects 'Extremely dissatisfied' or 'Dissatisfied' then I want to ask a follow-up question for that specific product. I created a loop and merge follow-up question with display logic of: If Based on your experience, how satisfied are you with the following product(s) performance? - Extremely dissatisfied Is Selected Or Based on your experience, how satisfied are you with the following product(s) performance? - Dissatisfied Is Selected However what ends up happening is if the user selects Dissatisfied for ANY product, the follow up question will get enabled for ALL products even if I only want info on the particular product they were Dissatisfied with. How do i create a bar chart showing favourable response to an item by team?

I'm stuck with something i feel is probably pretty obvious but i just cannot work it out. In my EX dashboard I want to set up a simple bar chart showing the favourable response to a question by Team (using either the demographic question or hierarchy). Much like the engagement by country chart in the video in basecamp. How do i go about setting that up?

Stylizing an Embedded Window

Has anyone ever tried to stylize the embedded window that displays a survey (when that option is chosen in the Advanced Options of an Intercept action)? If I choose that option the window has a very harsh and heavy black outline and my survey text is larger than it normally would be. I love the option of the embedded window (especially as we'll have to try and hide the URL for a separate issue), but it's very clunky looking: !

Measure time elapsed between answering two questions when respondents LEAVE the survey in between?

I would like respondents to complete part 1 of a survey, then watch a movie on a different website, and then complete part 2 of the survey. What is the easiest way to measure how much time has passed between finishing part 1 and starting part 2? Do I need to create two separate surveys or can I do this also within one survey? Note that respondents have to leave the survey to watch the movie, hence the timing question is not helpful as I understand it. Thanks a lot for your help!

We've added scoring to our choices in a survey for quiz purposes. How do I get a report?

I can see the choices with a score of "1" in edit mode, but doesn't show in the reports, results or data & analysis. The only place I can find it is exporting data & analysis, which only gives one column with a total score report. We're just looking for how many people got Q1 right and how many got it wrong, any want to do this? Would I need to make a category for each question?

Programming a ceiling cut-off

Hello Qualtrix community, I am trying to implement a ceiling cut-off for a new survey I am designing. I am trying to use a parent-report questionnaire called the Vineland-3 in my survey. I am administering four subsections of this questionnaire; each of these subsections has about 50 questions, so in total I am asking parents to answer about 200 questions. When given on paper, the survey has a ceiling, such that if a parent answers '0' for five items in a row, they discontinue that section and go on to the next subsection, until they get five 0's in a row in that section, and so on. I am trying to find a way to implement this ceiling in Qualtrics to reduce burden on the parents completing the survey. The reason that the basic Qualtrics logic won't work is that a parent could ceiling out at any point in the survey, so we would have to implement skip logic based on the four previous questions for EVERY SINGLE QUESTION in case that question just happened to be the fifth zero response

HTML loads on click away only.

HTML content from "Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function()" loads only when I click away to the next survey page, not when the page itself loads. Is this a common bug? The code seems to work in the original survey but not when it is imported from a .qsf file. EDIT: Two things. First, one page of HTML does load but following pages do not load. Second, HTML also does not load when survey is copied. It's been suggested that it is a survey ID issue, bit there is no reference to the survey ID in the HTML code. The original survey is in a custom Theme - could that be the issue?

A key concern is that I don't want survey participants seeing code behind games/simulations I need to embed. Javascript exposes the entire code. Any suggestions on using another language that works with Qualtrics?

Progress bar

Hi All, Can someone explain the way to handle this:- In my survey flow i have same study running for 2 samples. if Sample=1 (Survey) if Sample=2 (Same survey without screener and slight differences). I want progress bar to run independently for both sample as Sample is exclusive. Currently when i preview for Sample=2 it start from 50%, similarly for Sample=1 my progress bar not ends on even 100% completion :(

Partial survey responses not showing in Salesforce

I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen, but I need a response to a question to be sent to Salesforce even if the customer doesn't complete the whole survey. I thought this was manageable through the survey option "Partial Completion", which I set like this: ! However this is not working as I am not getting any data into Salesforce. The integration is working well and the data gets sent to Salesforce when the survey is completed. But if only a few answers are given and then the survey is abandoned, no data gets sent to Salesforce, even after 4 hours. Am I missing something?

Embedding a survey into a flask/js web application and getting responseids on completion

This is one of my first times working with REST apis and before I go down this rabbithole I could really use some help. I built an online experiment using JsPsych for frontend and Flask as a micro backend framework. I managed to get this experiment online deployed through Heroku. I created a qualtrics survey, let's just call it "Decision task survey", that includes some important demographic and personality batteries/questionnaires related to my experiment. So ideally, I'd want to embed the qualtrics survey onto the homepage of my Flask web application, `index.html`, allowing people to complete it there. Then I need some way of storing a unique identifier for that qualtrics survey, so that I can make calls to the qualtrics api to get the participant's survey data later on for data analysis. If I have read the documentation correctly, it seems like the `response id` can uniquely distinguish the completed survey responses of each participant. * https://api.qualtrics.com/docs/liste

Multiple fields in one Breakdown bar

I would like to create one Breakdown bar that includes three fields. Each field uses the same question choices (Strongly Agree . . . Strongly Disagree). I have created a Generic Field Group in the Source Data, which includes the three Fields (Text Set). When I attempt to create the Breakdown Bar Widget, I don't see the Group listed in the list of possible Fields (from "Dimension").

Blue arrow in the middle of my HTML

Hello all, I'm a master's student trying to add some custom code to my Qualtrics survey (HTML, CSS, JS). In short, we made a game that generates variables based on the player's decisions. Everything works fine when I boot up the program from my computer, but for some reason the game won't start on Qualtrics and a massive blue arrow inherent to Qualtrics appears right in the middle of my html. Another file that I've been basing this project managed to replace the blue arrow with a red double arrow that appears at the bottom right hand corner of the screen [>>]. Does anybody know how to do this? I'm also having an issue where the game appears in preview mode, but won't start up when I publish and use an anonymous link. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can send some of the code if that helps.

Custom dictionary spellchecker

Hello, Does anybody have experience using a JavaScript spellchecker with a _self-provided_ dictionary in Qualtrics on textentry questions? I was thinking of combining it with jQuery Autocomplete so that autocomplete suggestions come up even if the respondent has misspelled the word slightly. The most used one I found for JS was this but it's not open-source or integrated into Qualtrics. Any ideas or experiences with options that is possible to use with Qulatrics?
