Inserting a Chatbot code into Qualtrics

Hi everyone,For my master thesis i would like to research chatbots. In order to do this i would like to have some sort of frame where participants are able to interact with a chatbot through some sort of embedded square in the survey. Power BI

Is anyone integrating or sending information to Power BI from Qualtrics? If so, how is it going for you. We are using Power BI to do quite a bit of reporting dashboards for our operational teams. It is still in its infancy, but so far so good. I use Vocalize for my CX studies and other on-going studies, but might look at pushing some of my results into Power BI since so many in our organization will be using it regularly.

Hide SBS column - (not so) Simple Layout

Hi All,sorry but i have hit my limit. I’m too far in to not use Simple Layout or the SBS for these questions but Simple Layout is, simply, frustrating and/or my JavaScript is way too poor.I have forced response: 1 choice in Col 1, 1 choice in Col 2. But, now i’ve been asked that, if the last choice is made in Col 2, it should negate any choice in Col 1.i have tried editing code from here: and here: and even considered the @TomG code for enabling  the removal of a selection (it would then require their trust to remove their selection in Col 1 if they choose ‘exclusive’, which is not ideal but ok given the limited end-users) - though my understanding is that it doesn’t work for Simple Layout. correct?Either i’m not getting the element names correct or something.My preference is to keep it as just the 2 columns as per top picture, below, but would also happily move that “exclusive” choice to a 3rd column is that’s easier.Also, if anyone has any creative work-arounds that will work in-page

Archiving and purging XM directory

We send surveys at different stages across the user journey. The data is completely refreshed on a weekly basis. ie if the respondent has moved to the next stage we will use revised embedded data. I want to run a purge and refresh routine to wipe the directory apart from retained emails to manage the contact frequencies (currently one month) - can this be done? ideally automated

Calculated data entered NOT updated after clicking "back" button

Hi, I have 3 questions (say, Q1, Q2, Q3), each question asks for a number, and a 4th question (Q4) which sums up all numbers entered in those previous questions. This 4th question is not technically a question, it just shows the 'sum entered' and asks the respondent to confirm by clicking the forward arrow, or the back arrow to make changes to any of the inputted data. I have a custom javascript code which disables input into that (Q4) field. But my issue is, when i go back to Q1, Q2, or Q3 and make changes to any of the numbers entered, the sum at Q4 is not updated to the new sum (it still shows the original calculated sum!). Note; the calculated sum at Q4 is shown using embedded piped text. Could anyone please advise? and/or point me in the right direction? Many thanks, Amy

calendar picker with only month and year

hi all, I want to provide a calendar picker for month and year only. I tried with the code below:  jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .InputText").flatpickr({    dateFormat: "m/Y"}); The outcome did give me just month and year, but the calendar that pops out has day.  how to display only the month and year in the calendar picker?

Delayed Slider Question Doesn't work with my Javascript

Hello! I'm new to customizing Qualtrics survey questions and need some support. I have slider questions that I'm using Javascript to delay until after a video finishes playing (I found the script in this post), but the slider doesn't work once it appears after the delay. The slider disappears and I'm not able to move the slider when previewing it (see image below). My other questions (e.g., multiple choice) work just fine though with the exact same script. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Allow extension to run for more time?

Hi @qHubert,I’m not sure where to direct this question, so I’m starting with you :)Is there any way it would be possible to have an extension run for more than the default 45 seconds?In short, I’m building an extension that would need to process a lot of users in a project, and perform various tasks on them. In my current code, I had to build in limits to stop the code from processing too many users at once, as this would mean the code would hit the 45 second limit and then fail.This means that I can fairly safely process 250 users in 45 seconds, but if the server is slow, then I can risk that this would not even work. Running this every hour would give me the ability to process 6000 users per day, but in some cases this will not be enough.Worst case scenario, the solution in that case would be to split this into multiple projects, based on country or similar, and then just set up 8 projects with 8 connected workflows that would then load 8 jobs at the same time on the servers. API Responses works for shared surveys, but not my own

Hello, I get a very strange API error. When I use the responses endpoint to write responses into a survey, I get the error message “survey not found”. However, it works if I change the surveyID to a survey that is shared with me. So I can write responses in shared surveys, but not my own (same brand platform). Even if I copy the shared survey and use the surveyID of the copy, it is not working.Getting the survey response scheme works for all of my surveys. Any ideas, what’s wrong. Is there some setting in the survey that blocks my request?

How to reset multiple Question

Do responsive dialog creatives impact JS added in the survey?

Hi there! I wondering if putting a Simple Layout survey into a responsive dialog creative, impacts JS applied to survey questions? My development team sees our JS is working as expected in the console, however once the survey is in the responsive dialog, the JS no longer works.Just wondering if there is a relationship between the two.

Accessing and Setting Default Values in Matrix Text Box

My question, in brief: how can I use JavaScript to manually access a text box in a matrix and set its value equal to a particular variable? Additional Details:In my survey, I have a matrix table with embedded data variables as default values. The embedded data variables are based on how participants respond to an earlier question in the survey (which I’ll call “Q1”).Upon arriving at the matrix table, subjects can go back in the survey and update their responses to Q1. If they change their responses in Q1, the associated embedded data variables will update. In theory, what I’d like to happen is for the default values in the matrix table to also update accordingly. However, I find that when subjects arrive at the matrix table the second time (after going back in the survey and updating their responses in Q1), the values in the matrix are exactly the same as the first time around. Sending email during in-progress survey using embedded data in survey workflow

I have found 3 posts, tag below, looking for a very similar request, but none of them include details of how to execute this. As a participant starts a survey, I will ask them to enter their email address. After this block is completed, I want to use workflow to send an email to the participants embedded email address they entered. I attempted to first use the “additional response types” and selected the “included incomplete response” suggested in method 1 below. Unfortunately, I only get the email once the survey is completed.Goal: once the participant enters their email and submits that information. I want to send an automated email to that embedded email address, that includes 1 piece of additional embedded data from earlier in the survey to be included in the email body. I do not want this email to wait until the survey is completed, I want the email to send immediately after submitting their email. I don’t care how I have to execute this, I’m just a novice when it comes to API req

Graphic API upload to a certain library folder

How can we send email notifications for "In-progress" survey responses?

Hi Everyone, I have a unique ask… So I am building a B2B research survey which is super long and it could have up to 80 questions. The respondents could take up a few days/weeks to complete the survey. My question is..there are few questions within the survey that I need to flag right away and send email notifications. Lets say for Q28, if anyone who selects “Yes”, I send out an email notification to my team member. The only concern I have is that the survey is still in progress and not completed so I can not even create a email notification workflow.Is there a way where I can send email notification even when the survey is still in progress?Looking forward to your out-of-the-box solution on this. Custom Validation for Matrix Constant Sum

How to update contact fields in survey response using update response API?

Hi,I am using update response API (https://ca1.qualtrics.com/API/v3/responses/{responseId}) to update the embedded data in my survey responses. But I am unable to update the contact fields like recipienceEmail, recipientFirstName, recipientLastName using the same API. I understand that these fields are not part of embedded data but the api call is not returning any error. How to confirm one switching point in bipolar matrix table

I would like to use the bipolar matrix table to show subjects choices and they can make choices between these two boxes. But I want to confirm they only switch point one time, not multiple times, which means there are no multiple switches. The question is attached to this question. Modifying YouTube video display in Qualtrics?

Hello,I need to embed several videos into my survey and I need them to have as little YouTube branding as possible. They are actually TikTok videos that I have downloaded and then uploaded to YouTube so that they will be optimized for display in Qualtrics. I have gotten as far as removing the YouTube branding...I would love for the title of the video to not display (because YouTube forces you to title your video), but I can work around that. More importantly, I'd really like for the "channel" information and "subscribe" button to not appear in my embedded videos. Is there a way to solve this?
