MacArthur Scale of Subjective Social Status on Qualtrics

Hi I would like to use the MacArthur Scale of Subjective Social Status on a Qualtrics Survey. This requires at the minimum a vertical scale, preferably with a scale ladder graphic. Does anyone have any experience developing/designing this? Or any advice to improve my efforts, equally welcome!So far I've blended knowledge from across the developers corner and not been super successful. But I am close... I think. showing feedback with additional text after each question

Hello All,I am relatively new to qualtrics and would like to know how to achieve the following. I have enabled scoring on my survey page and after a respondent answers each question, it shows them the original question with feedback (whether they selected the right answer or not). On this feedback page, i want to add additional text on why a particular answer is right. However i m not sure the best way to do that. It looks like on the scoring feedback page,Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload() or the addOnReady is not called. So i am not able to show/hide the div text that i would like to display on that feedback page. Is there another way to do this?Thanks!

Adding autocomplete JavaScript to my survey?

How can I incorporate autocomplete JavaScript into my survey? For example, like the documentation shown here (http://jqueryui.com/autocomplete/). I have a text entry question that asks "Where do you live?" I would like to have an autofill solution that when the user starts to type in "n" it will prompt answers such as New York, New Jersey, etc.

Load text option for multiple choice on click

Hey guys! I have tried programming a question to only display the textbox for a given choice when its clicked, as all of my multiple choices have a text entry associated with them that has to be filled out. Do you guys know of any way to have every multiple choice have a text entry that has a force response once its chosen, but only shows up once the choice has been clicked?

Is it possible to make the answer entry boxes auto-expand when the entered numbers are too big?

I have this problem for question type Constant sum. I managed to increase the answer boxes using CSS in the html view, but it would be way cooler if the boxes would automatically expand when someone enters larger numbers. Is there a way to do this using JavaScript? I also want to automatically display thousands separators, so that it is easier to check large numbers. Cheers, Patrick

Adding hover over for matrix table choice/response

Hi there, I know there's been a lot of discussion on adding the mouseover feature to the question, but I haven't been able to find a solution for adding this feature over the choice field. I'm trying to figure out how to add a hover/mouseover textbox in a Matrix table so that when a user hovers over the choices, they can see the definition associated with that particular text. The reason for this is some of the choices will contain definitions that people may not be familiar with so I'd like for them to be able to hover over that particular text, and see the definition. Any help would be appreciated!

Displaying symbols before and after text entry fields in one column only

Hi,I have a survey where nearly every question collects monetary data. I would like to display a dollar sign before the text entry field, and ".00" after each field. I am able to use the following Javascript where I have a single column of text fields.However, I have a couple of questions where there is more than column, and a column in the grid collects numerical but non-monetary data. I also have questions with a single column, with a text entry field on the last line.In these cases the Javascript displays the dollar sign and cents where I don't want them to appear. Is there any way I can adjust the Javascript so the symbols do not appear in the first column?

Adding hover over / mouse over descriptions for response options

Hi, I'm trying to add descriptions to response options when you hover over them. From what I've seen on the board, the code to do this should be: <span title="Response option description">Response option</span> This does not appear to work, am I doing something incorrectly? How to lock/fix a question at the top of the screen, while scrolling down?

Hi everyone, For a new research project, I ask participants to evaluate fictitious job candidates. The information of the job candidates is summarized in a small table (implemented in Qualtrics as a descriptive text). Since the participants in the survey need to evaluate the candidates with respect to a bunch of statements it would be great if the table with info would move down when the participants scroll down through the statements. In this way the participants can always see the qualifications of the job applicants while evaluating them. I was wondering how I could implement this in Qualtics? I have seen discussions regarding fixing images, however with respect to fixing questions I have not seen any solutions for my problem so far. Maybe good to know is that I am completely new when it comes to coding. So any detailed solution on how I could program this, would be great!Thanks in advance for the input!Hannah

Customer links in email invites using HTML and CSS

I have been creating an email invite template. I have managed to customise most things using custom HTML and CSS. However, I am unable to change the colour of the survey link and opt-out link. Qualtrics seems to bypass my custom CSS for this, and the links always appear in blue. Furthermore, I have attempted to insert an HTML pill button, but Qualtrics seems to delete the <a href=""> tags.Does anyone know why I am experiencing these issues, and how can I overcome them?

Query the individual results of a survey via REST API

I'm trying to understand how to query the individual results of a survey. - I configure an Event Subscription for "surveyengine.completedResponse.{SurveyID}". - Qualtrics sends a push notification to my server with the ResponseID and SurveyID each time {SurveyID} receives a response. How do I then get the data associated with that response? From reading the documentation making a request to https://yourdatacenterid.qualtrics.com/API/v3/responseexports will give me ALL responses - I just want the single response.

Can I create a hyperlink that leads to the next page and track whether participants click this link or the next button in the right down corner?

Hi all,I’m creating a survey in which I want to measure whether participants click on a link to download an app. As I’m using PanelClix to find my participants, I can’t actually redirect them to the App Store of Google Play Store. So what I want to do is create a hyperlink that actually leads my participants to the next page of my survey and measure via JavaScript whether participants clicked on the arrow in the right down corner to get to the next question or if they got here by clicking on the ‘fake’ link (thinking it would redirect them to the App Store or Google Play Store. Can someone help me with the right Javascript as well as the ‘fake’ hyperlink I can enter for the word ‘here’ in “click ‘here’”. Ps. I want to code clicking on ‘here’ as 1 and clicking on the arrow to go to the next question as ‘0’Best,Fleur

Two alternative forced choices between randomly selected stimuli

Hello,I am working on a online-experiment version of an experiment I programmed on E-Prime, and I was wondering if it was possible on Qualtrics.The idea is the following:I have a list of 240 words. In the first task (recognition task), the participant see, one by one, all the word randomly and have to answer if he or she recognize it (so he or she have to say "yes" or "no" to "Do you recognize xxx?" 240 times. In the second task (inference task), the participants see pairs of two randomly chosen words and have to make inference about it (without replacement, the task is done when each words has been randomly selected).Is there a way to implement this in Qualtrics? Randomise the embedded data to be shown in piped text across different questions

Hi, I'm fairly new to Qualtrics (and have zero (0) knowledge about JavaScript) so here I am because I couldn't find an answer :,)Context:For my survey, respondents have to read 30+ vignettes. After each vignette, respondents have to answer 3 questions (which are the same for all vignettes). So each vignette + 3 standard qns have to be in a block.The presentation of the vignette-blocks will be randomised, but respondents must read & respond to all of them.Problem:Every vignette contains a fictional person's name. I have a list of fictional names to be presented to respondents, and would like the name displayed in each vignette to be randomised. (e.g., Respondent 1 would see 'Tom' for Vig.1 & 'Harry' for Vig.2; respondent 2 would see 'Harry' for Vig.1 & 'Tom' for Vig.2) Each name can only appear once per respondent.From my understanding, use of embedded data and piped text are the most efficient ways to achieve this. Hide response options in side-by-side matrix, based on previous response

Hi there, I have an issue where we need to use as few page breaks as possible to maximize survey completion. The issue is that I have a side-by-side matrix table (QID7). Ideally, I wanted to use display logic on the individual answer options, however, in-page display logic does not work for individual answer options (it would force a page break and display on the next page). The purpose of this table is to only show as many options as number of children mentioned in the previous question (QID4). The maximum is 10, so if the whole table shows up, it can look intimidating and like more work than it is, especially if they only need to provide responses about one or two kids. Does anyone know any javascript that I could use to either display/hide response options based on a previous response? Side-by-side matrix with 10 rows - can I show rows only on demand using a button?

I have a side-by-side matrix collecting contact information for up to 10 people. To minimize space, I'd like to set up the matrix to initially show just the first row or 2 and have a button below the table that they can click to "Add another contact" which will display the next empty row of the matrix only when clicked (up to 10 times). I assume this possible with JS, but I'm not sure exactly how. Has anyone done this before?

Rank top 3 from a list of six options

Hello, I've tried searching, and found one person asking the same as me, but the JavaScript suggested in the answer doesn't work. I have six options for a question, and I want to ask people to select their top three from these options, in ranked order. The previous survey software we used would let us do this by using a lickert scale, but only showing 1, 2, and 3 as column headers, and limiting the number of options that could be selected. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to do this on Qualtrics. The closest I've come is a drag and drop rank order, but this includes all six options, or a lickert scale from 1 to 3, but I can't restrict answers to just three options. I feel I must be missing something, as this is a common type of question, but I am totally stumped as to how to get this to work. Any help is much appreciated. How do I subtract between two dates in a survey?

I have two seperate questions in a survey that are dates. I would like to calculate the difference between these two dates as this is a component of determining a participant's eligibility. Custom timer - progress to next block without waiting for response

I have a block where each question is separated by a page break. Users are forced to answer each question before moving to the next one, and only have 2mins to complete as many questions as they can. How to calculate (Multiplication) two fields and get the answer on a third field

Hello,Can someone help me with the JavaScript that would multiply the value of two text entry fields for which I have set validations of content type as "number". Inserting month as piped text

I am trying to insert the name of the current month into a question so that it updates automatically. In a verbally-administered survey, the question reads: > For these statements, please tell me whether the statement was often true, sometimes true, or never true for you in the last 12 months—that is, since last (name of current month). Essentially, I just want to insert the current month in place of those parentheses. I figure the way to do this is with piped text, but the only date options I am finding that way include the day and year, not just the month name. Any suggestions on the most efficient way to insert just the current month name?

I am doing an ad concept test and would like to give respondents the option of viewing the ad again on subsequent questions. Ideally i would do this with a "click to enlarge" thumbnail, but also fine with opening in a new window from a link. Any thoughts on how to best handle in the survey platform?
