Hi everyone, I am right now in the data collection process and I'm wondering whether there is a possibility to get an additional Block Name information when exporting the data set on qualtrics to excel. I could not find it in the options though. It would be very helpful as I have 54 Blocks, each representing a different illness (participants are randomly assigned to 9 of 54 illness blocks), so right now I cannot filter based on a specific illness(block). Our API brings in an embedded date field as the following: 04/01/2024 03:30 PM. But I cannot figure out which date format I should use to ensure that “invalid date” does not appear in the response ticker widget. The date is the date of their admission ticket, which is what my teams would like to see in their daily report send from the dashboard. This helps them recognize when an issue might have occurred for the experience.
Hi all, I come to you in desperation as I have (unsuccessfully) tried no less than 15 ways to get this to work. I have a block with one instruction text and six free response questions. This is all on the same page. I need one of two things to happen before the participant can advance. They can either answer all of the questions (so type anything into all six text boxes) and advance at any time OR if it has been 60 seconds, it can be submitted as is (even if that means it is unfinished), but they cannot submit unfinished answers if it has been less than 60 seconds. I truly can’t get anything to work and would really really appreciate any insight. Thanks so much in advance!
Hi, I am trying to set up a question that has the visual output displayed in the image.Action requested for the task of this question: select images from the right and left column and drag and drop the selected images to an empty box of the central column. After dropping both images in the selected empty box, the two images will overlay to each other with a minimal transparency so both images can be seen in the selected box of the central column.After several corrections to the HTML, CSS and Java script code, the drag and drop action does not work. I cannot move the images of the two external columns to the selected box of the central column. I have two large surveys, each with dozens of blocks structured in several layers of survey flow. I need to combine them in a way where I’d really appreciate if I could copy large sections of one survey’s flow (not just blocks) and preserve the complicated branching.I know that I can copy a survey, so I’ve copied one of them to start as the jumping-off point, but I now need to bring in material from the second survey. Any tips? Is there any way I can copy groups?
I have an image at the very top of my e-mail distributions (as requested by our client). Unfortunately, this means that when we send out our e-mails, the preview that shows up in Outlook has the From Name, then the subject line, and then the image's URL which, as folks are likely aware, is our Qualtrics domain name followed by long random strings of text - it makes the e-mail look like spam. I would absolutely love to be able to edit that URL so that in that preview box it's either much simpler or doesn't appear there... Any help is much appreciated!
So, I've been searching all day, but couldn't find an easy answer. We need to collect the lat and long of everyone answering the survey. I know Qualtrics get the lat and long automatically, but we are limited and CANNOT use the Qualtrics App. With this, the lat and long we get are based on the ip address. We need the actual lat and lon of the phone GPS when answering the survey.I must say I have no experience with API or WEB Service. So if by any chance there's an easy step-by-step on how to get this data and include as part of the survey data collected, would be much appreciated.Tks.
Hi,I'm pretty new to Qualtrics and have hit a snag right out of the gate with my first survey build. Here’s the deal: I have created some vignettes for a survey, spinning different tales by randomizing bits of the story using embedded data—think changing up names, genders, locations, and the like. With this trick, I'm aiming for around 300 unique stories. My plan is to chuck about 10 of these vignettes into each survey, but I want to make sure that I am drawing a different version each time (sampling without replacement).How can I use the survey flow or other tools in Qualtrics to do this, without having to code anything in JS. Any pointers would be super appreciated!

I am curious if it’s possible to add an ‘extend text’ option for the text/graphic questions. These questions are not ones that respondents would answer; but informational text boxes. Some text is lengthy, and we want to preserve screen space. Is this feature possible?

Hi ! I am running a survey that needs to ask the same question 20 times changing one word in the question. To do so, I have created a loop with the 20 options and selected Randomise loop order to make sure that these questions appear in a random order. Up to here everything works fine. The problem is that now I have to ask a follow up question - but I want this question to appear only for 6 out of the 20 questions. And I want this follow up question to appear directly after the previous one, not after the whole loop is completed. For instance: Question 1: What is your opinion on …A… ?For this question we have 20 options, so: A,B,C,D,E,F,… up to 20.I want this question to appear for the 20 options but in a random order. Question 2: Do you know where A comes from?This question will only appear for 6 out of the 20 options, and directly after question 1. Hi community! I am currently designing a vignette experiment. I have 300 unique vignettes and I want every respondent to randomly get assigned 15 vignettes to be rated. Every vignette must be rated 20 times in total. How do I make sure that respondents get diverse vignettes and that every vignette is rated 20 times. So I will have 400 respondents. Kind regards
Hi! For my research, I would like to use the Matrix table - drag & drop. Mainly because Qualtrics does support scoring in this question type but not in 'select, group and rank'. However, I would like to have the items horizontally above the 'answer boxes'. In addition, the largest questions consist of 8 boxes and 18 items. Unfortunately, the combination of the following javascript code & CSS codes do not work for this. I have already tried replacing the PGR in the CSS code with jQuery, but this does not give the desired result either. I have an unusual situation where I need to control the Look & Feel of different brands in a single survey. We are locked into the “Simple Layout” and I have most of the JS working with the exception of a few selectors giving me trouble. The various brands are getting passed in by a web query so it’s all controlled by the JS in the Header. Here’s one example - Matrix Column Bottom Border ColorjQuery(".matrix .matrix-table .matrix-scale-points-item.hover").css({ "border-bottom-color" : "#5e5e5e"});Unfortunately, I cannot seem to figure out how to update the color for the mouseover/hover/focused effect. Hello, I'm curious if there is a way to change both the header and background color of a survey based on an embedded data field. For example: If Sample = G, show respective banner for G group and a black backgroundIf Sample = H, show respective banner for H group and a blue backgroundIf Sample = I, show respective banner for I group and a white backgroundI was able to get the headers to show for each group by setting up an embedded field for header URL and piping in HTML under Header in Look and Feel. Is there is a way to include background color with this? My survey currently has a white background for all three group, since white is the default under Look and Feel. Any help is appreciated.

I would love to get your help with the following:I have a side-by-side question where1st column is a Yes/No question 2nd is a Likert scaleI need the response for the 1st column, but for the 2nd ONLY if they selected ‘Yes’ in the 1st. If they selected ‘No’, they don’t need to answer the 2nd one at all, and ‘force response’ won’t let them proceed so I figured I need to apply ‘custom validation’. But I am a bit confused on how to design this with the ‘custom validation’ (the ‘AND’ and ‘OR’ logic etc.)This logic needs to apply to all items.Looking forward for your tips!

In R-studio, I have generated a numeric distribution (n = 1000) with specific parameters. In my survey, I would like to randomly select a single number from this distribution as part of a decision task for participants. So far, I have created an Embedded Data field in Survey Flow by copy-pasting in my distribution of numbers (separated by comma’s). However, I am unable to use piped text to select a single random number from this distribution to be displayed in my survey text. I would be grateful to receive some advice on how to approach this matter.
