So, you want to compare today's date to a date entered in a response. Or you want to know if the date entered is more than one month from today. Or compare the start date to the end date entered to ensure they didn't mistakenly put in a wrong date. It's all about validation. Qualtrics can do this natively IF the dates entered are all the exact same format. In survey flow I created a few embedded data fields to hold some data1. Is today’s date – the date the respondent is filling out your survey2. Tomorrow shows how to increment by one day. NOTE: %20 is html for a space3. Thirty days from now adds thirty days to today’s date4. Thirty days ago subtracts 30 days from today’s dateI can show the data...I can even ask for a date input (has to match the format)And then I can do a comparison between what was input and what I already have to control my display logic.My only issue/problem to solve now is how can I force the proper format needed (mm/dd/yyyy - with NO leading
Is it an update to Directories or is it because we were migrated to XM Directory Lite? Everything has changed - and I totally must have missed the memo/announcement. It's no longer called Contacts on my menu - no big deal.What is a big deal is I can't easily manually load embedded data to a contact. Tricks you say? Yes - you can select all contacts and then click on embedded data and then click on the field you want to update. Then find the contact (hopefully he was on that page of contacts), input your data and then start over again for the next field. IF you select all contacts (not just what's on the visible page) you can't edit the fields. I've also had problems with distributions and loading contact lists (the latest problem which the eng team fixed was on import only a portion of the contacts would be uploaded). Is anyone else experiencing issues?
What are your favorite Q-Hacks? What workarounds have you found to get something done that Qualtrics said couldn't be done? You know, when you tell them that something is not working right and they say, "It's functioning as intended." So you have to come up with a Q-Hack to "fix" it or to get it to do something you want.
I've loved Qualtrics for its versatility. I use it for workflow, a Ride Share app, and Permits! We used it for student government elections. Now we are trying to see if we can use it to run an Online Auction. Anyone have experience with this? Anyone have ideas? I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue.I'm writing (trying to add information) to a contact list in workflow. Although I provide the same fname, lname, email, and EDR, and have the option "update existing record" selected, it's creating a new record. This results in duplicates of the record (only the additional embedded data is different). I've contacted Support - and their first answer was that it's because I'm not using the recipient ID (which I've never used and there is no place to enter it!). They are still investigating. Anyone else notice this issue? Any ideas?
Before I submit this as a product idea, I wanted to get some feedback on it. As a Brand Admin, I push my users to various support/help articles on the Qualtrics site. I noticed today that when a help article references a setting (especially an on/off option) it doesn't tell what the default setting (value) isThis is an example. While it shows you where you can change the setting, it doesn't say what the default is. Nor if you can change this default for your domain as the Brand Admin. I can assume that the setting shown (in this case "on") is the default, but I don't think that's intuitive nor may it be consistent. What do you think?
Hi,I'm a brand admin at my university. We use CoreXM only, but we push the envelope on it...it has become our DIY Business Process Automation tool. I believe it needs a lot more than .5 FTE currently dedicated to it. I believe it can be leveraged (we have an enterprise license) across our organization to help departments and individuals be more effective and efficient, saving on time, funds, and effort. I'm looking for opinions and information from other Qualtrics customers. Do you have 1 or more FTEs dedicated to Qualtrics? If so, how many? And how many users do you support? If you don't have a FTE, do you wish you had?Any and all info that could be used to build (or tear down) a case for a FTE (or more) dedicated to Qualtrics is greatly appreciated.
Wondering if anyone else is worried about the impending depracation of Triggers? I do a LOT of workflow using Qualtrics. It's proven to be a GREAT tool for Business Process Automation! But a lot of that is possible due to Trigger Emails and Contact List Triggers. Specifically the ability to share data between forms using Contact Lists - seeded and updated using the Contact List trigger. Currently I have a case open with Qualtrics because the Contact List Action isn't firing or not updating the information properly.Where I get really worried is the lack of functionality. I would have assumed that updates to a new item would improve functionality, not remove it. In the case of Legacy Reports going away, we will lose a means of seeing choices selected when those choices were pulled in from a contact list. In that same vein it looks like we're losing functionality between Action Emails and Trigger EmailsAm I missing any differences? Did you realize the differences? Am I the only

So, I had a coworker help me set up a Google Sheet App Script (really easy) per the information I found and have responses going into the Google Sheet (using Actions). One thing I can't find how to do is pulll in the Recorded Date (or End Date or Start Date) - but I have just been using "today's date" from the response...as that is essentially the same. But NOW, I want to take a file upload (response) and save the file uploaded to Google Drive. Any ideas? has anyone done such a thing? Can it be done?
Qualtrics requires inputs to be numeric-only - not allowing "$" or "," (it accepts decimals). And a lot of times we want to accept inputs that are currency. Respondents want to see the $ and the "," between 1 and all those zeroes. But Qualtrics can't do mathematical calculations on those type of data. Best case scenario would be to have the $ auto show up as the person types in the amount, and appropriate commas also auto entry...basically using a Currency Format. BUT then allow mathematical operations on it. Happy to have a way to create an Embedded Data variable that holds only the numerical representation and use that for the math.
When I look on the new UI for Default Choices, I see a circle with a blue dot in it. It looks like it is already selected (like in a multiple choice/single answer question). Does that throw anyone else off? You click the icon that looks like it's already selected to engage the Default Choices options. I think this is a very confusing icon...am I the only one?How about the "Import from Library" being only at the bottom of the block?I tend to want to "import" a question - specifically one for a calendar widget. And I'd like to put it in where ever I currently am in the form/survey...but I have to go to the bottom of the block, import it, and then move it where I want it. The new UI was designed to be more user friendly (and for the most part it is), but am I the only one that this annoys?
One use case would be if I use a form to register participants for an event, and want then collect payment. I'd like to pass any pertinent data to the means of collection. I'm guessing I'll need to "integrate" or pass the data to a third-party tool, app, or site to do the PCI Compliant $ collection...
This is tougher than I thought it should be. Figured we'd use quotas...and use the quota count. BUT if two respondents complete their forms at (or near) the same time, the quota count will show the same value. Even though the quota decrements properly, the quota count at the time of completion will show the same. Tried generating a Random Number between 1 and 1000, but that gave us duplicates too (4 times out of ever 20 or so). Need to get a unique number, between 1 and 1000, without duplicates. We need this to then provide a special username and password for a research study. This way everything is anonymous, but logged against these values. Looking for a genius idea of how to ensure each respondent gets a unique number from our pool of numbers. Ideas?
We have a department moving their learning management system to Instructure Canvas. They use Qualtrics quite often in their classes and would like to integrate it with Canvas. Has anyone done any work to integrate Canvas and Qualtrics? I'm assuming it would be through APIs
If I have the respondent enter a URL and it includes the https:// or http:// (as many will type or copy/paste) when I try to share that response via a trigger or action email, Qualtrics adds PROXY text to it. Not only does this make it unruly, but from time to time, browsers try hard to reject this link. Also, if I want to include it on a brochure it is unsightly and unecessary.If I use the URL without the precedent - it is fully accessible as a link, so the https:// or http:// is unecessarySO...any idea about how to remove the precedent from the entered data? I can put two strings together but I don't seem able to remove part of a string.

Seems that I can get a comma separated list of responses for pretty much any question EXCEPT for a matrix question? Am I missing something? Why is this the only one where I can't get a "All choices - Entered Text"? When using a matrix with text entry fields, all I can get is the Question text, row and column headers exported (NO IDEA why I would need/want that),Any help would be appreciated. This is hard to explain. I want to keep adding new data to a contact list (allowing the respondent to fill out the form multiple times). Say I ask you to pick an item from a list. And I want to put these in my contact list through a trigger. The first time, you pick, I put it in "Item1." The next time "Item2" and so on. I know how to create a variable to track which number you are up to, and then use a contact list trigger (with a condition) to put each of the answers first in Item1, then Item2, and so on. But that means I need as many contact list triggers as choices. 20 items? 20 contact list triggers! That's a lot of triggers. It would be great if I could use a variable for the Field Name in the Contact List trigger so I create a concatenated value of "Item" and "N" (N is the number of iterations i'm up to) and then I only need one Contact list Trigger, with setting the variable's value in the Survey Flow. Is there a way to do this?Marty
I have users (I'm a Brand Admin) that take a class, and in it they create a project and schedule an email to test out the functionality. Later they tend to delete the project (since they don't need it), but it seems that the scheduled report still arrives on time. Am I missing something or is this true? If so, I'll suggest an improvement to either have the system warn the user that there's a scheduled report before allowing deletion (and then stop the report), or simply to cancel any scheduled reports if you delete the project.
I'm using a multiple choice question, and want them to stay if they answer it with d, e, or f. But if they respond with a, b, or c, they can go on to the next question (or block). Any ideas?
Qualtrics Support doesn't support putting things into an iframe. So, I'm hoping someone here has resolved this issue...I have a survey which uses an SSO Authenticator and connects to a contact list to display info. The iframe isn't working... it flickers and then disappears, only being a blank screen.
Respondent is in progress of filling out form. They provide data point X. I want to then do a call (API?) to a database (Oracle, Banner, etc.) that uses data point X to pull data and store in embedded data in the form to be used for the rest of the form. Is this possible? Or do all API calls have to happen before (or at beginning of) survey?
I've used them. I've loved them. I've also used URLs with passing data on them. But now neither seem to be working properly. My URL is failing (may be a separate issue) - still investigating why. But the contact list trigger not sending data into the contact list has me baffled! I ensured that a valid email address is being passed in. So, I'm lost as to why it's not populating the contact list on completion (yes, I made sure the form was completed). Any ideas? Anyone else experiencing problems?
related to an earlier question, I plan to use a customized error message - but it seems very restrictive. No rich content editor (like other messages), no images, no tables, etc. I tried creating a General message and hoped I could choose it for the error message...but alas, nope. I have to use a "validation message" which is highly restrictive. Another solution could be if in a multiple choice question I could show a different error (validation) message for each choice made. It seems that I only get one message per question rather than per choice. Any help will be appreciated.
