How do you summarize respondents using embedded data in reports?

How do I visualize a breakdown of my survey respondents using embedded data? I want to show who completed my survey by their region, division, employee type, etc. I am not trying to break down question data - just an overall summary of respondents. I sent the survey using email distribution to my contact list, and the embedded data is in the contact record.

Two-part study: timing between completion of two studies

Hello! I am doing a two-part study and would like to ensure that participants only complete the second part of my study one week after the first part of the study. Because I am using online crowdsourcing platform, it is likely that my participants will complete the first part of my study at different times. Is there any way in which I can program the second part of my study such that each participant can only complete the second part of the study at least one week after they have completed the first part? Combining Statement on a Matrix Item

Hi, I am trying to use a Matrix item to create a construct. For example, I will have 3 statements about "Program Objectives". I then want to combine all 3 statements to create one combined score for "Program Objectives". In the reporting, I can only see the responses for each statement. How can I combine the responses for the matrix item?

Product Recommendation Tool?

I'm currently vetting options and would love to use Qualtrics if there's a way to create a product recommendation quiz. Essentially, we want to build a tool that helps our customers find the exact type of product that is best suited for them. Example * Question 1 -- Yes/No * Question 2 -- Yes/No * Question 3 -- Yes/No * Question 4 -- Yes/No If someone answers Yes Yes Yes Yes, then we will recommend product A If someone answers Yes Yes No No, then we will recommend product B Does Qualtircs have anything like this available? I'm looking at the site and can't determine if you have anything like this. Thanks!

Is there a way to change font size for matrix style questions in the Flat Layout mode?

I'm using the Flat layout and on a desktop I noticed the font size will display slightly smaller for the options in matrix style questions than the default size set for all questions. Is there a way to fix this?

Loop and Merge to Allow Respondents to Take Survey Infinite Times

I had what I expected to be an easy question. I have a simple survey that I would like people to be able to take over and over to provide information on different people. I wanted to have a simple "yes" or "no" question at the end of the survey. "Do you have more employees to complete the survey about." If yes, they would get the same set of questios, if no they would be taken to the end-of-survey message. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. I know I could ask at the very beginning of the survey "For how many employees do you plan on completing this survey" and loop/merge based on that field, but that seems like such a clunky solution. Does anyone know of any way to achieve what I want? Thank you!

Setting up the gauge chart

Hi, I would like to ask regarding the "gauge chart" on the widget of the dashboard in order to measure the satisfactory level and/or points when compared to set goal. For some reason, I keep on failing, which the screen reflects as "the range is restricted" and so forth. With that been said, I'm completely setting up accordingly to the previous dashboard, literally copying the setting (indicator etc), but the result doesn't appear the same. I'm guessing that the embedded data is not set up correctly, however even if I adjust the embedded data according to the previous data, it fails. I would appreciate if anyone can give me tips to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance!

Linking to Qualtrics from Recollective

I'm looking to link respondents participating in a Recollective Online discussion out to a Qualtrics Survey and once they complete the survey redirect them back to the Recollective discussion and pass a completion code back to Recollective. I have successfully redirected the respondents out of Recollective to a Qualtrics survey but not back to Recollective. Any tips on where to start looking to learn how to do this? Thanks!

How to split question responses over several pages

I have a question with 67 potential multiple choice check-box responses. Because there are so many responses to this question, I would like to break the responses over several pages. Is there any way to do this without having to manually split the responses across several different questions? Thanks a lot!

How to assign participants ID from 00001 to 10000 in sequence?

Can anyone help me with assign participants ID from 00001 to 10000 in sequence? I knew how to do random ID, but because of the requirement of this study, I have to make them in order. Also, I don't have a contact list. It is an anonymous data recording.

Can I use JS or CSS to change the size of blocks?

I would like my first block to be significantly smaller than my second block, as to be non-intrusive on the page. Once a user answers the question on the first block, the second block would be larger, with questions that require more "room" to answer. Right now, I can only set the size of the creative for the entire survey; I would like to set the size of the creative for block one quetsions to be smaller than the creative for block 2 questions. Is this possible?

How to display a list of address and remove the address once the survey is complete

I need to create a survey for recycling set out rate for my community. I have the list all addresses in the community and created a representative random sample from that list. I envision my survey having the user's address at the top and a question like "did this user set out their recycling cart - yes/no". Once the data is collected (submit button is clicked) the next address appears at the top of the survey and the yes/no question about the cart, never repeating a address. Is this possible?

Can you add headings/subheadngs to a drop-down list?

Hello, For an upcoming staff survey we are hoping to ask participants to identify the team they work in. These fall under one of the larger departments, and I was wondering if it was possible to have a drop-down list with headings for each department and the teams organised underneath? The department names themselves would NOT be selectable, imagine would look something like follows: Department A Team A Team B Team C Department B Team A Team B To note; because we call both departments and local teams "teams" in general, having a drilldown is not an option because question wording gets very messy! How to make the "entered text by respondent in survey 1"to appear in survey 2 for same respondent?

I am running a two phase survey (longitudinal). In survey 1, the respondents have to type the name of a brand. In the survey 2, I want to remind the same respondent about the same brand he/she typed in first phase by displaying the information such as " Think of (the brand name they entered in survey 1 should appear here) and answer the following questions. How to make the same responses appear for every respondent in the survey 2? for Example : In survey 1 Respondent A typed "Nike" as a brand name and Respondent B typed "Adidas" In survey 2, for Respondent A, I want to display "Think of _NIKE_ and Answer the following questions" and for Respondent B, I want to display "Think of _Adidas_ and answer the following questions" Please Help me in this

How to automatically present a video in Full Screen mode

Hi there, I am putting together an experiment that requires participants to watch a video that must be viewed in Full Screen mode. I Have tried inserting some of the java/HTML code that has been previously posted on this subject but to no avail. How to Display Participant Responses to Looping Question

Hello, I am developing a survey where people need to provide their reasons for/against doing something, before making a decision on if they would do it. This has been established through a looping through 20 different scenarios. We also want to establish the valence of these reasons (how positive/negative was the reason you gave), but feel that asking them to do this before the decision is made may be a confound. Therefore, we ideally want to now show each subject the reasons they gave, for each scenario, one at a time, so they can rate them. I know that I can pipe text through a question response, but since the response is based on a loop, it only gives me the option of specifying which iteration I want to display: ! This leads to the piped text following a format of: !. Ideally, I would be able to have this in a nested format, where I use field1 as a set of 1:20 (all possible scenarios) and then nest this into the display: ${q://{${lm://Field/1}_QID296/ChoiceTextEntryValue},

Data preparation: How to categorize user Text answers

One of the questions in our survey gave the user multiple choice answers, aswell as an extra text based answer possiblility. Now for the data evaluation I would like to add some of the user text answers to the existing multiple choice answers (ex. What is your highest educaiton. Multiple choice option:"Master". Answer given by user:"2 Masters") or create new one (Answer given by user:"PHD". I would like to add this as a category). Is this possible in qualtics?

Hi, I want to give a number for each question when randomizing block.

Hi everyone, I am super new to JS. Basically, I am randomizing my blocks but I would want subjects to know which question they. First, I put an Embedded Data "counter"=0 in the survey flow. Then, at the beginning of each block, I have a page displaying "This is question ${e://Field/counter} " Lastly, I have JS for each block like this: Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function() { counter=counter+1'; }); But then it does not work at all. The counter is not changing. I would appreciate it if anyone could help with this. Thanks a lot.

Is there a way to automatically generate questions based on a preexisting list of names?

We are trying to ask people, say, how much they like a list of people. When there is a large number of people in the list, instead of creating each question and entering each person's name manually, is there a way to have qualtrics automatically generate questions by looping through the list of names?

Is it a best practice to ask the NPS question in-line and record partial complete?

I'm piloting asking the NPS question in-line and recording partial completes. The majority of my respondents click on an NPS answer choice then drop out. I'm not sure if I should record these surveys as a valid complete because I'm not sure if the user put any thought into their answer or if they just clicked randomly to see where it would take them. I would appreciate any opinions or experience people have had on this practice, thanks!
