How to efficiently make an embedded variable for piped text based on many questions.

Let’s say that I have ten items (Yes/No) associated with a characteristic, let's say it's A, B, C.... J. Something like this: item1 is Aitem2 is Bitem3 is C...item10 is JI want to create an embedded variable considering the different possible combinations. That is if the participant said yes in item1 and no in the other 9, the embedded variable is stored with a text called "A". Another example, if the participant says item1, item3 and item10 is yes and the others no, then the text of the embedded variable is "A, C and J", so with all the possible combinations. How can I do this efficiently since there are hundreds of possible combinations?

Missing quota conditions

During the full launch of our survey, we noticed that the quota conditions which were set for some gender and age groups disappeared during the survey.We set quotas for 2 genders (male, female) and 4 age groups each (18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54). For three categories: female+25-34, female+35-44, female+45-54, the condition specifying that gender should be female did not appear in the quota. We reviewed all previous and published versions of the survey and the quotas were always set correctly. However, we noticed that in the published version, the female quota condition disappears and then reappears when the page is refreshed. This is even though all previous versions of the survey show the correct quotas, but for some reason the first version of the survey does not unless refreshed.We cannot figure out why this is happening and we cannot field the survey until this is resolved.

Increase distance between form field question and entry box

My survey has a number of questions that look like this:    The question and the entry box are very cramped together and overlap with one another. Is there anyway to increase the space between the two? I would also like to increase the width allotted to the question so that it isn’t spread out across so many rows of text. Thanks

How do I use previous answers in a current distribution

We use multiple complete questionnaires to keep track of updates in any people’s survey answers. The report for each survey then get sent out via email distribution every time they complete it. Is there a way to use some of the embedded data from the previous time the person completed the survey in the more recent email distribution so that the email can display the current response score and then a previous one for selected questions?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How can I set the value of a "slider" question using the QX API?

I’ve a slider like the following one defined in the survey. This corresponds to a question object with a single choice → RecodeValue (runtime.Choices) and consisting of answers (runtime.Answers) like follows: Instead of using some hacky workaround to set the slider value (e.g. using some jQuery) like described in other threads I’d like to set the value explicitly via the QX API.I can get the choice and the corresponding RecodeValue. But I cannot set the value using the QX API no matter what API of the available options for this question type I use: How can I set values using the QX API?

Bucketing multiple questions the same way

Is there a way to bucket several questions (all 5pt Likert scale) at the same time rather than using the Bucketing feature individually for each question? For example, I want to create top 2 box (% favorable), middle box (neutral), and bottom 2 box (unfavorable) for a set of 10 questions. I'd like to do it once instead of 10 times. Similarly, for grid questions that are rate, is there a way to also bucket the responses all at once in a similar fashion (top 2 box, middle box, bottom 2 box) for all the response options in the grid question at one time rather than repeating the exercise 13 times, once for each of the 13 options?

Embedding data: Data Field Naming

Hi there Qualtrics Community, Has anyone ever come across this ask? We have programmed a survey, and out third party recruiter is asking that we set up some embedded data. We already cannot do this with our current account, however it looks like upgrading the the DesignXM account allows for customs coding, which is required here.Where it gets interesting is that the ask from the third party recruiter is to name the embedded data field RID (as well as a CRID variable). This however, looks to be not allowed by Qualtrics: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/survey-flow/standard-elements/embedded-data/ Has anyone has similar asks from third party recruiters before? If so, how did you solve for it?

Combine answer from two question in one survey

Hi, I do the questionnaire with 14 separate questions. Now I want to combine data from 2 questions. For example, Q1 ask about gender, Q2 ask about frequency of eating meat. I want combine results to know that which gender consumer more meat. How can I combine it.Thank you

Formatting "show value" on slider question

I am using a slider for an income question. I indicate that the answer is "in thousands of dollars" as the slider goes from 10 to 200 (for carry-over purposes, I need approximate values). So if the answer is $21,000, the participant should slide to 21. My question is: Is there a way for the value shown on the slider (when I click on "show value" to display $21,000 (with or without the dollar sign) instead of 21?

Survey questions take too long to load

Hi Everyone, We are currently experiencing the following issue: A majority of respondents leave the survey after only a few questions and report having trouble moving on to the next questions, that oftentimes take several minutes to load! The questions where these issues come up are very simple and don’t have any JavaScript in the background, although questions further down in the survey require some more work in the background. Any ideas/recommendations on how to solve this would be much appreciated! Best,Chantal

Pick, group, and rank custom validation

I am setting up a research survey where I utilize the pick, group, and rank question type to ask respondents to sort a list of 18 statements into 4 different boxes. Up to 6 statements can be placed in each category, so it is possible that all statements could be sorted into 3 boxes and 1 category will remain empty. However, I need to verify that all 18 statements have been sorted. Currently I have validation set up so that each box can contain a minimum of 0 statements and a maximum of 6 statements, but this does not ensure that all statements were sorted into a box. Is there a custom validation method that I could use to ensure that the respondent sorts all 18 statements before proceeding?

Survey master testing

Hi All,Question wrt a survey. The survey has different segments based on embedded data field for whether the respondent satisfies a particular criteria or not. Is there a way to “master checK” the entire live survey and not use the preview button. Just to make sure that the segments appear as required. Thanks

Store nested google datalayer data in feedback project

Hi all, I have a question about storing embedded data in my web feedback project.Certain fields in our google datalayer are nexted, for example ecommerce → product → quantity → ID. When i copy the property path (e.g. “.ecommerce.remove.products[0].quantity”)  and insert it into qualtrics as embedded data, it seems to record no value in the survey.  I can get it to work with google datalayer data which is not nested (e.g. “languageID”), so I am sure within qualtrics i am doing everything correctly. Does anyone have any experience with storing nested datalayer data as embedded data in qualtrics feedback projects?

White space left by Dashboard widgets in PDF download

Hello Community! In my CX Dashboard, my widgets are neatly aligned like this: When I download the PDF, the empty space left by widgets is cut off like this:This seems trivial, but I have many pages and the misalignments add up, making my PDF report messy.I can't make the widget smaller and adjust the one to the left, because then the last metric will be cut off. Any solutions?

Send survey email in language based on country field

Hi,We would like to have a pilot transactional survey based on Salesforce event. Our current ISO language field is in a different format than what Qualtrics accepts. Can we use a SF country field to set up a language somewhere  in Qualtrics Workflow, e.g. javaScript or something to do, for example, if country is France-send the email in French etc. We will do a Salesforce development on the language codes after the pilot, so we need to have an interim solution meanwhile. Thanks a lot!

Is it possible to have a subheader on top of the options for side-by-side with drop down list.For example, black and blue is under the sub-header dark colours, while green orange & yellow is under bright colours.

Masking of Personal Information

Mask the personal information in Qualtrics post email has been sent out.Customer provides the contact details in a CSV file, distribution mode here is email.As soon the emails are sent/responses are submitted, all personal information like Name, email id, phone should be masked within Qualtrics.Any suggestions on how to do it or an idea. I am all ears.

Reference a CSS file in the File Library

Hi everyone - I'm having trouble using a CSS file in the File Library of Qualtrics. I go to the file -> view file -> copy the link -> past the link in the Look & Feel 'External CSS' box of the Qualtrics survey. But of course the link is a .php jumbled reference, so I'm not sure how to directly reference the css file itself. Referencing it this way is not working. Any idea how to reference files inside of your File Library for use like this? I do not want to host the CSS file on another server if I don't have to.
