Hi there Qualtrics Community,

 

Has anyone ever come across this ask? We have programmed a survey, and out third party recruiter is asking that we set up some embedded data. We already cannot do this with our current account, however it looks like upgrading the the DesignXM account allows for customs coding, which is required here.

Where it gets interesting is that the ask from the third party recruiter is to name the embedded data field RID (as well as a CRID variable). This however, looks to be not allowed by Qualtrics: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/survey-flow/standard-elements/embedded-data/ 

Has anyone has similar asks from third party recruiters before? If so, how did you solve for it?

I believe it is a common request from client OR third party recruiter to ask for some additional embedded data. Let me guide you how it is done:

 

  1. Get a list of embedded data from third party recruiter and add them in your survey flow on the top. Make sure they are not the reserved words (as you already mentioned RID). Suggest them for a change like RID1 etc.
  2. Create final links and add “&embedded=XXX” (without quotes &RID1=XXX) and ask recruiter to replace XXX with required values as per their need and then distribute the survey. For testing purpose, you can do the same withe the “Preview Link” (your_preview_link&RID1=some value). After completing the survey, you should get that value in the embedded data field RID1. Check that in the “Data & analysis” section to confirm.

Below is an example if you want to use multiple embedded variables. Make sure there is no space between the variables and their values.
