🐘 World Wildlife Day | Badge of the Month | March 2024

My favorite domestic animal is the chicken (we have more of those than any other pet--at one time they numbered around 250)!  I love that they all have different personalities--especially my pet Butterscotch, who is very curious and gets into everything.   My favorite wild animal is probably the elephant because they are majestic, incredible creatures.My favorite flower is the Streptocarpus, which has gorgeous blooms in a huge variety of colors (and they also happen to be one of the plants I don’t always kill).

🎯 New Year’s Resolutions | Badge of the Month | January 2024

Happy New Year!  This year is off to a good start (for me, and I hope for you all as well) 😊Professionally, my goals are to find ways to be more efficient--starting by automating as many of my ETL workflows as possible.  I also hope to do at least one presentation at a professional conference.Personally, I have quite a few resolutions this year.  The main one’s I’m focused on right now are reading more, completing at least one home improvement project, and compiling a cookbook of family recipes.  I’m pretty excited about keeping them all, which should make it easier!

What I love about Qualtrics is that the product is always improving! The employees ask for our input and ideas, and then they use those to enhance an already fantastic survey software. After 7 years of using Qualtrics, I can still say it's a love match! 💖

How can I add a field just for admin use?

Are you using single sign on authentication ssbyron? If you could embed a field that identified the person as an admin, and then have the block hidden to the applicant, that might work.

❄️ Holiday Traditions | Badge of the Month | December 2022

I like to create an Advent Calendar every year so we can count down the days from December 1st through 25th. I started this tradition in 2020 and have continued it every year since. The first year I had different things written on pieces of paper folded in origami shapes--each day was something different! Some days it was a small gift (like stickers), some days it was a new recipe to try (like golden milk eggnog), and some days it was a task to accomplish (like decorating the tree). In 2021 the calendar was focused on "getting in the Christmas spirit" and had a different question to answer each day. The questions were things like: What's your favorite and least favorite Christmas carol, what is a Christmas memory that involves an animal, and what's the most memorable Christmas gift you've ever given. This year each day is a photo challenge--you have a color and an adjective and have to take a picture of something fitting that description. The pictures are placed together in a g

🦇 Spooky Season | Badge of the Month | October 2022

I try to avoid all things scary...which is why Hocus Pocus is my go-to Halloween movie (and I'm looking forward to watching Hocus Pocus 2 this month!) I do watch a lot of true crime though, and that is scary on a whole different level...so eventually I'll get around to watching Dahmer. And although it's probably not scary at all, my plan this Halloween is to watch Ghostbusters (because I've never seen it, and it's a classic, right?!) 😄

🍎 Back to School | Badge of the Month | September 2022

I have had so many favorite teachers over the years--it's impossible to choose just one! In grade school my favorite was Ms. Alexander (4th grade). She was so kind to me, and I was a shy child so I was thankful for that. In high school it was Ms. Shelton (history). She really challenged me and pushed me to improve my academic skills. She also wrote the recommendation letter that helped me get into my top choice university! In undergrad my favorite prof was Dr. Folmar since he took the time to personally encourage me to pursue anthropology as a major (which I did). In grad school it was Dr. Stanford, who mentored me and still keeps in touch to this day. She's written me more references than I can even remember! I wouldn't be who I am today without all of these teachers and the many others I had over the years.

💡 XM Community Learnings | Badge of the Month | July 2022

I have learned SO MUCH from the XM Community! When I was starting out with Qualtrics I would come here to find answers to my questions, and also to try and help other people find answers to their questions. Helping others find answers actually taught me more about Qualtrics than I would have learned if I just used it for my job and never really pushed myself outside that box. I also love the community challenges that come about once in awhile that encourage me to try new things and find out what Qualtrics is capable of doing (any chance we might have another one soon?).

I was born in New Jersey, but moved to North Carolina when I was young. I have grown up in different NC cities except for the couple of years I moved to New Mexico for grad school (I wouldn't mind going back either!). Despite having lived in one state for most of my life, I do love to travel!!

I'm excited for all of them, but being a huge Chip & Joanna fan I would go with them if I was forced to choose 😃 Across all the conferences I've ever attended, Qualtrics always has the best variety of speakers, and I'm sure this year will be no different.

What I love about Qualtrics is that it's so versatile--if I want to do something a certain way, it can almost certainly be done. And if I can't figure it out myself, there's a huge community of users that I can turn to for help! Finally, if it can't be done, they give me a venue to make the suggestion. As a company, Qualtrics is always looking for ways to improve and help us improve. What more could you ask for really?

In 2022, I'd like to learn how to automate as many of my daily tasks as possible so I can free myself up to work on more challenging data analysis projects. I'd also like to expand our annual Analytics Day to be even larger than last year (can we hit 1000 registrants?!). Finally, if it's safe to do so, I'd like to attend at least one in-person conference this year.

❄️ Holiday Experience | Badge of the Month | December 2021

I love travelling, but it's so stressful around the holidays. If I could have anything, I'd rent a mountain cabin nearby that's large enough for my whole family to come stay here for a couple of weeks! We could decorate and celebrate together. We could have bonfires every night and open gifts on Christmas morning. Maybe we'd even be lucky enough to have a white Christmas (like last year). The treats I look forward to every year are my dad's chili on Christmas Eve, eggnog by the fire, and French toast on Christmas morning. I also make lots and lots of cookies (all different kinds) to share with friends and neighbors.

👻 Spooky Season | Badge of the Month | October 2021

I do NOT like horror movies and I avoid them as much as possible. Movies like Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal are more my speed. That being said, I do have a not-so-scary seasonal favorite that I watch every year: Hocus Pocus. When it comes to scary books, I am a True Crime fan--real life is scary enough! Ann Rule is my go-to author for true crime, and I've read almost all of her books. Small Sacrifices and Bitter Harvest are my two favorites.

😷 Coronavirus' Experience Impact | Badge of the Month | August 2021

I didn't leave the house much over the past year and a half, so when I did venture out I noticed a lot of changes...but I also noticed what didn't change (that should have). Signage was everywhere letting people know they needed to wear a mask, where to stand, which way to walk, etc. Sometimes it was even funny, which I appreciated. A friend of mine started a collaborative photo archive of all the Covid-related signs she saw in and around Santa Fe, New Mexico. This one was my favorite!I liked how it wasn't just national brands and companies that made adjustments, but even our local spots. One local bookstore installed a drive-thru window so customers could pick up books. Despite this, business was still struggling...until Steven Colbert sponsored a Super Bowl commercial (starts at 1:57) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LExJyYVjOXo.These are only a couple of examples that I noticed, but there continue to be more and more as time goes by.

💼 Ideal Work Settings | Badge of the Month | July 2021

I've been working from home since March 2020 and I absolutely love it! If remote work is here to stay then I can dream of one day in the future when I can have a home in a warmer climate where I spend my winter months and my home here in the mountains where I spend my summer months. It would be the best of both worlds! And if I ever wanted to take my work on the road, I could travel in an RV on my days off and set up my "office" anywhere there's good WiFi during the work week. It's amazing how many possibilities are available when working remotely.
