With automations in the XM Directory, it's a two-step process.What we do with file uploads via SFTP through XM Directory is:Set up an automated upload of the contacts into a mailing list (pull file off SFTP, import to select list)Set up a distribution automation (also in the XM directory) that sends to that list (sends to just the new contacts uploaded to the list) and is triggered by the import process successfully running.
I know this is not the question being asked, but just a side note to be careful with use cases on Zip Codes, especially where planning to DISPLAY the lookup as part of the question. For a lookup at the back end of the data, this will be so helpful, but for embedding in a question, variations in how postal offices are distributed can cause... unexpected results in your responses. Some places have regional zip codes. Some locations share post offices. In the original example on this post, if someone had asked the question of my folks (regional post office, far from their actual local government) they might have very different answers on that basis. My post office is listed as Baltimore. I do not live in the city of Baltimore. I don't even live in the same county (because Baltimore City is its own county, separate from Baltimore County). In fact my post office has 2 names, and neither one is actually "where I live" but the latest posted file shows it as Baltimore so just to point out... i

OK I see. When you said "Variable" I was thinking survey variable, like embedded data. But you meant Question numbering. There is a length limit: 20 characters. (I tried naming a question number 123456789012345678901... to see how far it would let me go, and it will not accept the 1 at the end: 20 characters in total.)
OK in that case, you need to use display logic on the prompts themselves, for each one. Each prompt at Q4 will have a dropdown option: And you'll tell it to only show it if it was NOT selected in Q2:

Hi!Are the two sets of options the same for both Q2 and Q4? If so, what you want to do on Q4 is use "Carry Forward Statements" and base it on the items that were NOT selected in Q2. Note that the system won't like "In Page" logic on a question with carry forward options (though I can't understand why, in this specific case, since the carry forward is from prior to the pertinent question; must just be a setting)If the two sets of options are not the same for Q2 and Q4 (like you have half-hour breaks and in one and not the other, need to check against conflicts 1:1), then you would want to use display logic not just at the question level (show Q4 if Q3 = Yes) but also at the prompt level. (Note: sometimes you have to turn off the question level logic in order to access the prompt level logic)In either case, though: You'll need a page break between the two, so that the selections in the first 2 questions can impact the second 2 questions.Option 1 example:

Yes it is!Click on the BLOCK that the questions reside in, and in the menu at the left, select Question Randomization. Then click Set up Advanced Randomization.From the page that opens, you can reposition the order of the items if desired by reordering them as desired. Select the questions you want to be randomized, and move them into the randomized box. Leave unrandomized the ones you want to always appear in a set order.
I'm sorry, I'm confused. You have an Embedded data field at the start of your survey flow for Age (type = Numeric, because you want to select based on ranges later) and then further down (after the pertinent questions) you also want to have a branch in the Survey flow that uses a combination of Age (is between X and Y) AND survey questions (Q3=No) AND (Q4=No) to set another Embedded data field that indicates Eligibility... Just as a good practice I would set "Ineligible" and then use another branch to set anyone who is not Ineligible to Eligible so that the data is all there and clean.You didn't mention any other fields needed, but that would give you Age and Eligibility for each respondent. What else was needed?
If one negative works, but two of them don't work, maybe just Duplicate the step that is checking TWO items, then remove one of the negatives from one, and the other negative from the other? (Leaving everything under it the same so you don't have to reset everything, just use the same end of survey.)Then either:They both work because they are not combined orOne works and the other doesn't, and you know there's something weird about whichever one is failing.
I'm going to agree with MatthewM above re: testing with one option or with triggering only the second set of options. Your first set of criteria are "negative" (Is not Selected) and there are multiple of them. The combination of those two may be upsetting your logic flow from ever getting to that first option. Is it possible to break those two "Is Not Selected" options apart so that only one is being checked (even if they both have the same end of survey behavior attached to them?Is it possible to flag people with an Embedded data fields based on the same logic and then use that criterion to pass people down the respective paths? (Then you also have a data field to reconfirm where the system thought they should be going?)If even without any custom end-of-survey steps, you can't get the survey to save your end of survey behavior, I'd suggest (and I know this seems dumb) trying again after having been out of the system for a while (I know that sounds like a dumb answer, but we have an op

I was envisioning that the answer to Q1 would likely be a text field (eg with their new contact info), in which case it's possible to add fields to the table for "Q1 answer", to also add either Embedded data (Company name, etc) or question responses, to round out a tabular summary. But it sounds like that won't meet your specific use case.
Is there a reason you need to be able to do this as custom code? We would do this via the Survey Flow, using branch logic that combines the different variables and then a nested Embedded Data step to set the appropriate value (whether that's "Eligible" = No or "Ineligible" = Yes or "Qualified = "Ineligible")
We have found that some teams prefer to have access to a Public Report (e.g. Results report, inclusive of just the key information points, with a password protection) that they can periodically access to get a real-time summary of the data points they need vs a 1:1 notification process.That said, the new "results" dashboards do not (currently) include this capability, so you would need to be using the "old" results - reports pages and you would need to be aware that this capability is not yet included in the "new" results pages (so make sure you provide feedback to Qualtrics so that they ensure that capability remains once they convert us all over to "new").
I don't think there is a workaround, but I would recommend that post this as an enhancement idea here on the community. I know I would upvote it.

with a TOC you can allow multiple blocks to be navigable, but it still won't give you a true "back" button that crosses blocks. Glad to see the subscribe feature, that is a nice add. I agree with other users, the real value is in what the experience is when an issue arises - what is the lag before an issue is notified, what information is provided, etc. But this is a great start, thanks Q team!
Two thoughts.One is to look at the logic that determines "incorrect response to survey termination" to make sure it's got the needed exception for those who simply did not respond to the question. (Also make sure the termination step is nested under that path, not "out" a level catching more people than intended.)The other would be to create an embedded data field for each group (Group=1-6) based on which path they go down, and then add a branch before the attention check question block so that Group 6 (control group).does not see that block at all.
Based on your use case, I am thinking the survey flow method may be the best option available. I realize that is cumbersome of course. I would consider throwing the entire process inside a "Group" step (so that you can collapse them when you're done, to make it easier to navigate other portions of your survey flow) -- and of course Duplicate/Edit will be helpful to you here rather than building each step individually. I'll be interested if someone else has a better solution, though.

Hi mziraldo is this something you MUST have done via "code" or is it acceptable to be able to set the values based on survey flow, dynamically as the survey is processing their responses? If the latter, you would probably use a combination of branch logic and embedded data fields to accomplish this:Note that you would want to think about every combination (your example didn't describe how to flow from QJ5A=4 but hopefully this example gives you an idea).
