Dear community,
I would like to randomize a subset of questions within a single block. An example:

Block

  1. Q1a

  2. Q1b

  3. Q1c

  4. Q2a

  5. Q2b

  6. Q2c

  7. Q3a

  8. Q3b

  9. Q3c

I would want that main questions 1,2, and 3 to be randomized but the order within one subset (a,b,c) should stay the same. Is that possible?

Thanks for your help!

Marla ,
No, you can't group questions within a block then randomize the groups.
As an alternative, you can split Q1, Q2 and Q3 questions into 3 blocks then randomize the blocks.

Yes it is!
Click on the BLOCK that the questions reside in, and in the menu at the left, select Question Randomization. Then click Set up Advanced Randomization.
From the page that opens, you can reposition the order of the items if desired by reordering them as desired. Select the questions you want to be randomized, and move them into the randomized box. Leave unrandomized the ones you want to always appear in a set order.

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/47004#Comment_47004Hey Tom. Yes, you are right - this must have happened by mistake. I do not see an option to change it though?

Michael_Cooksey and Community team, is there a way to sort this for Maria? My answer was accidentally selected as Correct but wasn't the one that best met her need; Tom's was. She'd like to make that update if it's possible, but none of us knows how. :) Assistance appreciated!
