This may be an over-simplification but I would do this by going into the survey builder and assign scoring values.
I would recommend adding the embedded data BEFORE the survey block, especially if you are going to present questions based off the ID number. All you need to do is type in the column header or field name (case sensitive) of the embedded data you’re wanting to pull (you don’t select it from the drop down menu). You can then use display logic for the specific question(s) or block(s) you’re wanting to show to based off their IDs.
Documenting here the solution that happened on a call with Qualtrics, the date format is case sensitive in excel to Qualtrics. Once I changed the date format it suddenly accepted all of the other values I was trying to import! I still don’t understand why the other columns were hitting errors previously but they randomly resolved once the date format was uploaded as shown below.
No problem @jbetker ! I agree as it is obnoxious and doesn’t seem super straight forward. Should you encounter something else that works please let me know as I sometimes run into this issue and I’m sure others do as well.
@jbetker it’s out of the look and feel survey, and the publish button as if your survey is going live. As long as you aren’t sharing the URL or personal links and then deleting any “testing” data before you truly distribute the survey it should be fine (this is what I have had to do in the past when I don’t see look and feel changes reflected once I navigate away from the survey).
Not that I am aware of, but am following. The only thing would be to have them finish the “test” delete the response, then pull a new personal link
You may need to build it out on 2 widgets, 1 would not have any additional filter so that when you selected the filter it dynamically changes that widget, on the other widget I would add a filter on the widget (not a page filter) and set the dataset on the widget to be survey 2.
Hit apply, but then hit publish before leaving.
@paulinapm I ended up creating a measure group to achieve adding in multiple questions into 1 widget.
@ahmedA if I go the route of making a new field with field editor will the data now be in the newly created field AND still remain in the 2 individual fields as they are now, or is it just one or the other? Thanks for the tip about using branch logic to show the 2 different question texts, definitely going to use that going forward.
@Sachin Nandikol THANK YOU - I spent hours yesterday with the support team and they ended up escalating it to engineering for further investigation. It worked! What is really interesting about this is I sent the survey out Sunday morning, he was not able to see the the customer profile section on tickets that came in, but then everything that came in from 4pm and after he was able to see (this was all prior to me enabling him access to the XM directory), really strange as I didn’t change anything in his permission… And I have other ticket owners with the same permissions, again prior to this change, who are able to see the customer profile. It was isolated to just my one user and only until a specific time. For documentation purposes here’s all I enabled and it changed on his side - verified via proxy login as well as he confirmed.
All of my reps are qualtrics users, and their embedded names are in the same format as their names on their Qualtrics user accounts @Sachin Nandikol
Yes @Sachin Nandikol , I ended up on holding off of the “reinvite” distribution and let the reminder ones go out. I then downloaded that distribution and noted that none of those emails were on there, I then went ahead and set them up on their own distribution as shown in my original screen shot. Right click in column 2, select display logic, set the condition(s). Repeat in column 3
I’m not sure of a way to block them out for a true 24hr period or only 1 entry per calendar day. You could build the survey into blocks for each day and set to embedded data so that when a specific question in a block is completed their embedded data value sets to 1. Then on the 2nd day they go back in you have logic that looks to skip block 1 if that embedded data = 1, and continue that on for each of the 7 “day” blocks.

I would recommend going into the look and feel then general section - on your next button is it typed in there as submit?
@qualtrics_nerd I entered the JS exactly as you posted (*this also has fueled me to learn JS)But I am not seeing the “optional” in the text box show up as anticipated
There are a few options. You could use a survey flow randomizer or you could assign embedded data (show or no show) and then use that piece of embedded data in display logic for the question(s).
@TomG This is what I ended up doing and it’s working perfectly in testing! I removed the RandomNumber embedded data altogether. I did not add in show embedded data either. Since it’s the last question on my survey I set up a flow randomizer just as you had suggested (I was getting hung up as you have to select at least 1 element and I was only focusing on the block/single question here). I just added in end of survey as the 2nd option and then made it set to display 1 of the 2 elements (end of survey or block 2). Thank you for getting me pointed in the right direction here, it’s working just as I hoped it would.
I can’t seem to edit my above comment - positing this here in hopes it can help somebody else out. After you’ve added the embedded field click “set a value now,” Insert Piped Text, Random Number, I set my min to 1 and my max to 2. I then went into the display logic for that question and set it to display if RandomNumber = 1I took this several times in a row and each time I was assigned a 1 and therefor saw the question. I am going to go back in and change it from 1-2 to 1-50 and then if the value is equal to or less than 25 I’ll have it displayed. I’m not so sure there’s a “good way” to get a true 50% display.
@Umang Upadhyay I’ve never touched java script so I’m going to stay away from it for now. If I’m follow you correctly on setting the embedded data it should look like this? Then for the question display logic set the condition to when the embedded value RandomNumber is equal or less than 50, is that correct?
Are your questions all required? Someone can appear to be an “incomplete” because they did not answer ever single question, but they just advanced the pages and submitted.
Thanks @Sachin Nandikol that was my original thought, I was hoping there was a “sleek” way to condense it so if someone else was to come in and look it through they would be able to quickly make logical sense of it. I think this is what I’m going to end up doing since I can only get 2 out of the 3 to work correct - super strange, I’ve even deleted and rebuilt the one that isn’t placing the embedded data correctly.
Being the only admin or even “power user” for my org it is so nice so have a group of people who I can bounce ideas off of and get feedback! I often feel like a lone fish in the sea at work not having a “partner” at work who can look and be a second set of eye - that’s why I love XM Community!
