While most emails received don't get read or get skimmed and brushed to the side, there are a few survey email best practices that can help make your invitation stand out and promote engagement. When opening your email, recipients should know why they received the invite, the purpose of the survey, and know the time it will take to complete the survey.
A lesser-known tip is that thanking the recipient in advance for their efforts can invoke cognitive dissonance and make them feel more compelled to reciprocate the gesture and take your survey.
