Unanswered questions

I have a survey where we need to use an anonymous link, but we are embedding certain details into the query string to give us certain details.  The link is something like www.survey.com/?D=YYYYMMDD&T=HHMM, so the actual link would be something like www.survey.com/?D=20251120&T=1015. I want to use that data as date/time segmentation on the dashboards.  I will set those up using this process (https://www.qualtrics.com/support/vocalize/dashboard-settings-cx/dashboard-data/date-time-segmentation-cx/).I’m capturing both D & T as embedded data with a value that is being set by the URL.  I added a separate embedded data field called FormattedDate and another called FormattedTime so I can save them as YYYY-MM-DD and HH:MM, then I added a third embedded data value as DateTimeCombined, and just added the FormattedDate & FormattedTime together, separated by a space.That would give me the data in a YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM format.  However, I can’t figure out how to do the formatting on th

Am interested to find out some clever ways to go about achieving the conditions for a candidate survey to be sent. Hopefully someone on here has done something very similar or identical. 😅Survey to be sent to:for each application, anyone who has been in both Phone screen and Decline later buckets for each application, anyone who has been in both Phone screen and Offer accepted bucketsCurrently, I have a report set up that tells me the date/time a candidate entered entered a bucket and has a row for each bucket. This report is cumulative so the number of rows only ever grows.i.e. if Bob enters phone screen on 26/10/2025, the report that runs at 10pm on 26/10/2025 will have 1 row. Then if Bob enters decline later on 28/10/2025, the report that runs at 10pm 28/10/2025 will have 2 rows (Bob in phone screen and Bob in decline later).The report above can also be modified to be non-cumulative which means that in the same example, Bob will have 1 row in both the 26/10/2025 and 28/10/2025 repo

After someone selects a choice from my Satisfaction question (1st question), the response is recoded to 1-5 as an embedded data object “OSAT” at the end of the Block in the Flow. When users click the first answer, then close the survey, the survey is not recording the OSAT ED object because it has not hit the Survey Flow and won’t until they go to the next page.Question: Can you set up a script in the Java code in the AddOnUnload field to capture the embedded data and record the ED object OSAT? 

My research team is working on a research study together with a nonprofit organization that uses a Clerk Chat/Microsoft Teams integration to provision phone numbers for SMS messaging across their organization. This nonprofit has kindly offered to provide our study with a dedicated number that the research team can use for text messaging.An advantage of using this number is that it would be pre-approved for our use case + we could use it to send unlimited SMS messages - with no additional cost to the study or to the nonprofit organization.    A disadvantage is that neither Clerk Chat nor Microsoft Teams are on the list of SMS providers that Qualtrics offers plugins for. Ideally, we would like to be able to use this number with Qualtrics’ Workflow, in order to send text messages with survey notifications and reminders to our study participants.Can anyone suggest ideas or workarounds for accomplishing this?

Hello everyone,I’m working on a workflow that pulls a file from Qualtrics’ Automation File Service and passes it through Basic Transform before moving on to the next steps. When I run the call on my machine using the endpoint from the Qualtrics API documentation page, the workflow runs perfectly with no issues. When the client makes the same call with the same file directly from Databricks, we keep getting the following error:TRF_1 - Record 1 has no field brand! Please ensure your source file has the header brand. Funny fact: the file does have the brand header. 🥲 Has anyone experienced this or have any insights that could help?

I have to share Employee engagement data and analysis tab with my analytics group but I also want to make sure they dont see PII variable like participant email, name and some other meta data like employeeID etc. How can i do same in EX platform?

Hi All, We have a Business Unit in our org hierarchy where multiple teams, as individual teams, do not meet our anonymity threshold of 7, however combined they would. Without lowering the anonymity threshold, is there a way we can combine this data in the dashboard so that the tech managers highlighted can see a combined view of their results, that includes the Tech Manager who does meet the anonymity threshold (who is not highlighted)? I’ve tried doing this using the Dashboard users profile to restrict access by these teams, however the teams that don’t meet the threshold still don’t appear. (Image below shows this org hierarchy, I’ve just replaced the individuals names to protect confidentiality). 

I need to send reminder emails until every individual on the contact list has finished the survey. Is that possible?

Hello,I wanted to ask if anyone has successfully created a matrix table question with an uneven number of statements for the respective columns. I have attached a screenshot example of what it would like (See Attached). There would be seven statements total (in my example, business activities), but only three of the statements would appear for one column and all seven for the other.I know I can utilize the ‘Make Answer Exclusive’ for the first column and create a custom validation to limit the number of options checked for the second column. However, after confirming with the Qualtrics Support AI Assistant that this is not possible, I wanted to see if someone has figured out a workaround for this type of situation.Thanks in advance for any insights!Regards,Eric

In a gauge chart, i want to set colour showing 1 to 2.7 as red, 2.8 to 3.7 as yellow,3.8 to 5 as green.The challenge is in display it lets you give min, max and < values. And that value is used to set the upper limit of red and lower limit of yellow, etc.Can we do anything so that we get the values as desired ?

Hi, allI’m building a survey that will be distributed to various teams across a couple of departments via an anonymous link. I want to build an org hierarchy with expected response numbers, and include a question where respondents select their level in the hierarchy.I want to create one hierarchy that contains several departments, and the survey link sent to teams will identify their department. When the hierarchy question is displayed, I’d like them to see only the levels within their department, not the whole hierarchy.How can I do this?Thanks

Is there a way to trigger a workflow when there is a change in directory attributes “Number of Surveys Completed” and “Date Most Recent Survey Completed”? We want this data to sync to Salesforce each time any survey is completed.

We were pretty sure that in the past there was an option to do so and help still indicates that, but in the current instance there is nowhere an option to delete either a single distribution nor the complete list. Do we searching in the wrong place or is this not possible?Regards

Hi,  I recently pulled a distribution list from surveys that were sent and saw that the external data reference field was not fully populated; some file numbers were there and some were not. I looked in the directory that was used to create the distribution, and they are there. Any idea what could be causing this?

Hey everyone, tldr: 1) Is there an alternative to using embedded data and loop & merge for randomly assigning text blocks to participants so that the same block can appear on several pages and still be identifiable in the analysis? 2) Is there a way to import embedded fields from excel?I am planning a manipulation check for an experiment in which participants evaluate LLM outputs along three dimensions. In this manipulation check survey, I have 33 unique LLM outputs for each of the 3 treatment conditions to be evaluated. Each output needs to be randomly allocated to participants so that every output in every treatment is rated by three independent raters. Each rater should only see one output, but they evaluate it across three consecutive survey pages. That means the assigned output must be displayed on and remain identical across these pages and must be trackable in the data. My last attempt using loop and merge failed because the randomisation didn’t end up balanced.My current pl

There is no way to use the same template for a distribution email as a reminder email. I have to store two separate emails due to the filtering on sub-type in the selection field from the email form. This is rather frustrating as it means that I am now forced to keep two copies of this email and update both of them with any changes I make. This is just duplicating data for no reason and should have a workaround

Hi there, Has anyone successfully mapped Employee Central’s “Termination Reason” field using “Extract Employee Data from SuccessFactors Task”? We wish to filter for voluntary exits as part of condition for exit survey; this should be identified by termination reason - event reason. We are having issue identifying the path to the field.“employmentNav/jobInfoNav/eventReasonNav/name” maps to last effected event reason thus is not helpful, we wish to send the survey upon entering of termination details in SuccessFactors. any help or sharing would be appreciated! 

I am having a usecase for which I need to tigger emails for incomplete response, but the condition is workflow should trigger after 48 hours of response recorded. Is there any way to do it ?

Hello! I am the Qualtrics Brand Administrator at a university. Due to budget constraints, our university has decided not to renew the Qualtrics license. Our license will expire on January 2, 2026. Some of our users have surveys that will run until December 31, 2025.January 1, 2026 is a public holiday, and many people will also be on leave on January 2, so they may not be able to log in and export data in time. For this reason, I contacted the Qualtrics Support Team to inquire whether our users would still have a specific period after the expiration date to export data. I was told that there would be a 45-day period after the expiration date during which users could log in and retrieve their data. However, when I confirmed this with our Account Director today, I was informed that after the expiration date, users would no longer be able to log in or retrieve data, and we were asked to ensure that our users back up their data before the expiration date.These two completely different answe

Same thing like using Quota's for a survey but this feature is not available.I was trying to develop a custom code in a workflow of an imported dataset but this is also not working as I can't use the piped text as its not available? Is someone experienced with this? Hello,I’m trying to integrate a looped question with a multi-choice drill down list.For example, using the qualtrics example of cars, they have a drill down where the user selects a year (group 1), make (group 2) and model (group 3) of a car. I’d like to be able to have a later question where the user to ranks the models of the particular make. Is this possible without having to manually re-enter the lists of models in JS?I know that I can pull the selected model easily, but is there a way to get all of the group 3 choices, rather than just the selected one?Thanks!

Hello Qualtrics Community, I'm new to qualtrics and I'm working on building a survey. However, I'm not sure if what I am wanting to do is possible. The first thing is that I'm trying to dynamically display images and image/question-specific metadata. From a .csv containing 1000+ questions and their labels, I want to create questions directly from the .csv and essentially import the corresponding image, image metadata, and other related information (rather than doing it by hand). Alternatively, I was wondering if it is possible to create all 1000+ questions programmatically and then deploy static questions in a random order in the survey. The second thing is dynamic typing into a field. I have ~4000 possible answer choices and dropdowns/multiple choice would be too cumbersome. Some of these answer choices are synonymous with one another so it would ideal that they would retain that synonymy behind the scenes. I’ve always used a custom “From” address for my distributions, but recently I can’t send any unless I use the predefined Qualtrics address (noreply@qemailserver.com).If I try with my custom address, I get an error and the distribution won’t launch.Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be a system bug? It’s been happening for several weeks now.Thanks in advance!
