Accessing meta data from photos after uploading onto Qualtrics

Hello!
I was hoping to give out a survey to participants where they take a photo and upload it onto Qualtrics. This would be done using the file upload function.
After trying things out, I noticed that after downloading the files from the responses, it's not possible to tell the date and time of the photo taken (i.e., the meta data was erased). It was instead replaced with the date and time of download.
I've tried calling Qualtrics support, but they confirmed that the platform itself does not have such a function. Was wondering how this may be done using custom code?
