Can we run Javascript in an email template?

I am trying to pipe in an embedded value based upon which I am running a JS in the email template to avoid creating multiple email templates.

When I try to run the email template on W3 Schools complier, it runs fine and is working as expected.

But when I am copying the email template to Qualtrics the script does not seem to work.

I found out that the javascript has been disabled on email template and can be used only in surveys.
