Changing the colour of carousel answer buttons

Hi there,
I've got a few questions in my survey that use the carousel format of the matrix question. What I'd like to do is to change the colours of the answer buttons, so that they look like the image below (i.e. a different colour for strongly agree, agree, strongly disagree etc.).
I've been able to add CSS to change the colour of multiple choice answer options, but the same code doesn't work for the matrix carousel questions and I can't work out what needs to be included in the CSS!

Hi bryan_patriquin , I recently commented on a post with some code that should apply here as well. Try adding the below CSS to the Question Text using the Rich Content Editor's HTML/Source View "<>". The below is set up for both vertical and horizontal alignments.
