Date Picker Formatting

I recently made the mistake of using one of the date selection variables provided in the Qualtrics Question Library. I assumed that this question would output a date. However, it outputs three different columns which are not even formatted correctly into being combined into a date in the Data section of Qualtrics. I have already posted this survey and am currently in the process of receiving responses.
I need some way to get this variable to produce a date output that can be used as a filter, or some what to manipulate the three output columns in the Data section of Qualtrics to create a new date variable.
I appreciate any help.
