We have multiple courses using the same survey. I need to capture the URL of the page the student is one when they click the survey link. I put in the survey flow embedded data for Referer and Q_URL. The Q_URL is capturing the Qualtrics link students click but the referer field has no data.

Referer is the correct field name. The Referer field will be empty if the respondent doesn't come from a link on another web page (e.g., email invite)
The Qualtrics link is on a page in our Canvas course site. this is the code
<p><a href="http://wpcareyschool.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4SGslj06g3Fz36t">Click Here to Access the Team Presentation Evaluation</a></p>
<p><a href="http://wpcareyschool.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4SGslj06g3Fz36t">Click Here to Access the Team Presentation Evaluation</a></p>

Take the survey to completion from the link you posted above, then check the Referer field in your data.

Hello,
I have this same issue. Unsure if this resolved it for the original poster, but I have a survey link on a web page and the referer field is always the Q_URL and not the referring web page URL. Help!
Thanks,
Tory

"Referer: This element shows the page the respondent was on when they clicked the survey link. For most emailed surveys, you will see a URL for the email provider. If the survey is linked to with an automatic redirect, such as a URL redirect at the end of another survey, no value is recorded."

Contact Qualtrics Support if it is not operating as described above.
