how to display question text (html) from a previous qsn using piped text using javascript

Hello,
I have a survey where the question text - say QID40 is a mock CV : an image + some text loaded in from embedded data. QID41 asks the respondent to rate the info in QID40. I have a bunch of questions of the same format and once all the ratings have been collected I want to redisplay the top 3 highest rated CVs ie. the question text. I'm able to display for instance the highest-rated QID using the code below.
But if I want to display the question text it doesn't - I suspect it could be because it can't store it as a response?
Please could you help me figure this out, I'm not sure how else to do this! Would be more than happy to provide any additional details.
