How to set up a fill in the blank sentence structure

Hello,

I am trying to set up a study that has two conditions, in which individuals describe their partner in either unconditional or conditional terms (my partner is _____, vs. my partner is ____, when____). I would like to set up these sentence structures such that participants can freely write in the blank spaces within each sentence. If anybody knows how to set this up, please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If you are interested, I have a JS function that does this. Information is here. The same thread also contains a demo.

@TomG That link now goes to something else. Do you still have the source page with the info?

Thank you!

I added the JS to the question itself (the only one on the page) and have the question type set to Single Line Text Entry. However, this results in two separate text fields as shown below.

When I set the question type to Text/Graphic it looks correct, but I’m not sure that set-up will work right.

@Regan,

You would need to get the actual function code from me.

Ah ok, that is what this refers to above the set-up instructions?
