I would like to ask respondents to rank 5 items in order of preference, then I would like to carry forward the top three they ranked and ask respondents to select subcategories that are most relevant. Is there anyone that can advise if
a. this is possible -or is selection limited to top and bottom rank? and
b. how I can do this with top three ranked selection or with highest and lowest ranked?
I am sharing an example below- Thank you
e.g. Please select your favorite part of a meal in order of preference
Starter
Dessert
Sides
Mains
Drinks

Then for the top three they are to be offered a further choice for selection
e.g. if top three selected are starter, sides and dessert
options for follow on questions would be
For No 1 'Starter' which of the following is referred
Soup or
Salad
other

For No 2 'Sides' which of the following is preferred
carrots or
fries
other

For No 3 'Dessert' which of the following is preferred
chocolate cake
ice cream
cheesecake or
other
