Is there a way to have survey takers type in responses that autofill from a multiple choice list? | XM Community

Hello,
I am trying to create a multiple choice question with hundreds of possible responses related to student major. I was thinking of doing it as a dropdown where participants can type their responses which will autofill from list choices. For example, the student would begin typing "English" and anything with English would show up as possible responses. Is that possible? My workaround is using display logic to narrow down major list but I am still a bit concerned on how that would function with so many majors. Thank you!

BrianS Would using the "Drill Down" question solve the problem? Students would be able to first select their major (and, if needed, additional qualifiers) and then only the choices applicable to that major would appear.

jmborzick I thought about "Drill Down" but I don't think it would work for this - essentially they are needing to select their major from a large list, and that format would still require them to scroll through all the options.

BrianS As a thought, how would it work if as an early question, you have the person enter the first letter of the major. Then you'd have a block for each letter that would be routed using branch logic in the survey flow. In the "A" block, the majors would be "Architecture, Agriculture, etc."
