Pre-selecting options (based on embedded data) when another is checked | XM Community

Hello!
I have 2 questions in my survey that have the same multiple- choice answer options, except I have an option in the second question that's "the same as my previous answers". E.g.:
Q1: What genre of movies do you watch with family? Select all that apply. A: Thriller, Comedy, Romantic, Sci-Fi, Action, Drama, Horror, Other (please specify)
Q2: What genre of movies do you watch with friends? Select all that apply. A: Same genres I watch with my family, Thriller, Comedy, Romantic, Sci-Fi, Action, Drama, Horror, Other (please specify).
I would like that when "Same genres I watch with my family" is checked, all the choices checked in the previous question get checked as well by default, to speed up the process. I was thinking of adding embedded data after Q1 (e.g.: 'ThrillerSelected' == 'Yes'), but I'm not sure how to add the added condition of also having to select "Same genres I watch with my family". There is also the added difficulty of filling "Other (please specify)" with the same text as before (ChoiceTextEntry), but as a default text rather than a placeholder. Any help would be much appreciated - thank you very much!

Hello!
This may not be the answer you are looking for, but how about building a matrix question with 2 columns, one for family and one for friends?
This would simply your setup (as I am very unsure that Qualtrics can autofill boxes when another is selected) and analytics as well as simplifying the overall user experience of checking boxes in a single question instead of duplicating the effort.
