I built a data table in a dashboard, but I would like to add other columns with text that are not tied to a data source, that I can just type in manually.

Qualtrics dashboards don't support manually entered text columns in a data table, but you can try the below work-around.

  • You can upload a secondary data source (like a CSV file) containing your manual text values along with a key (e.g., ResponseID, Email, or another unique identifier).
  • Then, link this file to your main dashboard dataset using a common field.

If you are the survey owner and can access survey data directly, you can use this approach where in “Data & Analysis” of survey you add a column “custom variable”  where you can type in manually and then you map this variable in your dashboard to show.

Summary - You can show up your manually entered text in dashboard by making customization in survey data tab as well.
