Compare NPS of Data Series to Overall over time | XM Community
Skip to main content

Hi all,
I'm trying to show a breakdown of our NPS by a Data Series (like Region or Vertical) over time (in a line chart), but include the overall/average NPS as a point of comparison. The Comparisons option only shows NPS as an overall average (one horizontal line) and doesn't create a line that shows the NPS by the time series. Any thoughts on how to achieve this?
Thanks- Marc

I figured out one workaround - Create a new Metric for each NPS segment and filter to it. It's not the most dynamic option, but it's functional. If anybody has a better option, please let me know!

You can follow the below steps:

  1. Use a simple chart (type: line) widget

  2. Add 2 metrics of NPS with same NPS question add a filter of date on both metrics of year1 and year2 respectively e.g. Survey Recorded date from 1 Jan, 2022 to 31 Dec, 2022

  3. Add your region as X Axis Dimension

  4. Scroll to Legend values and click on both metrics and plot on Primary Axis and display as line.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Deepak, but I'm not looking to compare year-over-year but multiple segments plus the overall average over time. So x-axis would be time, with y-axis being NPS, with different lines for each segment. In the attached example I have the three regions in color plus the overall in grey.
trends.jpgMy workaround gets the job done, but is not ideal as it will not update if we add a segment (and takes a lot of time if there's a lot of segments).
