Creating NPS visual from imported historical data | XM Community

I am looking to create a NPS visual for one of my CX dashboard with imported net promoter score data. The imported data does not come from any kind of API. I manually have created a “survey” with all the questions in the multiple line text format so that I can then upload the historical values in via the import feature. I am running into an issue where even if I map the values in the dashboard as number set or number value the gauge chart widget is not letting me display the NPS value. I assume it is because it is not coming directly from the net promoter question. I have attempted to upload data into the built in NPS question (instead of the free text) but the system will not allow it. I also thought maybe I could do something with the embedded data in the survey but I am not sure what the best method for that would be either.

The approach will depend a lot upon the type of visual. For example, you could take a horizontal bar graph, and give it three colours. For this, you’ll need to assign the appropriate EDs.

The most common NPS widget that I’ve seen is a guage chart with some custom values. The value comes from the NPS. You can calculate it using a custom metric in your dashboard.

Thank you for this! I have never done a custom metric before (my organization more recently got this system and I am the only one who works in it so lots of self learning)

I am looking to just have the NPS displayed in a gauge chart. Do you happen to know how to make a calculation for NPS as a custom metric?
