My widget isn't working

I need my Widget to display the correct answer when a student selects the wrong answer. I keep getting NA in the field. I have the CorrectAnswer_Q1 = D (This is for early literacy) in an embedded data block. The next embedded data block has Missed_Q1_CorrectAnswer. The help AI tells me to leave this blank, so it says to Set a Value Now. Under the quiz block, I have a branch if Q1 score is Equal to 0 (I do have scoring set up) Then I have an embedded data nested under that with Missed_Q1_CorrectAnsswer =$e://Field/CorrectAnswer_Q1}.

In my dashboard: I have mapped Missed_Q1_CorrectAnswer. (set to Open Text)

When I put the mapped field in the record grid, I get N/A for both correct and incorrect answers. What am I doing wrong? Qualtrics is still pretty new to me and the AI help isn’t helping.

HI @JaniceS ,

Have you work out a solution yet? From your text, I cannot tell if you are talking about surveys or dashboards or both!  Perhaps you could provide a few screen shots to show the working.  Embedded fields won’t work if you miss just one character out, even { or } plus they are case sensitive.  I’ve often experienced this issue.

What do you mean by ‘embedded data block’.  Do you mean in the survey flow you have a (green?) block where you have setup your embedded data fields?

I think the first thing to check is if you are getting data in the D&A part of the survey as then you can work out if the problem is the survey end or the dashboard end.

Please provide a little more detail / screenshots and I’ll try to help! :)

Thank you for answering my question! I did figure out a solution. I realized AI was leading me down a rabbit hole of misinformation, simplified the process, and voila! I now how a way for teachers to see which letters their students know in the dashboard. I’m so excited to share this new tool with them.
