Key Drivers - Scatterplot widget - correlation between “Outcome Metric” vs “potential Driver

Dear expert,
This is my first post :).
I am really struggling to understand the Key Drivers - Scatterplot widget ( standard widget of Employee engagement dashboard). I've 4 questions in “Outcome Metric” and 64 questions in “Potential Driver”. I would like to understand based on what logic a potential driver question is placed in one of the 4 "importance" quadrants. After reading the help I got "It is calculated by taking the absolute value of Pearson’s r, such that: Importance = | r |"- but this is going above my head.
