Hi Guys,

I have a large survey going out right now where 10% of the respondents will be using a QR code to access the survey (through an anonymous link with an Authenticator). I want to be able to count the number of people who have used the QR Code in an EX widget somehow.

I thought I could maybe use the Q_EE_ANON field and look for people who have it set to 1.

Any thoughts on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Scott

Hello, ScottP

To track the number of people who accessed your EX survey via an anonymous link (often used with a QR code), you must use the Q_EE_ANON embedded data field.

How to Set Up the Metric

  1. Identify Anonymous Respondents: The system automatically sets the embedded data field Q_EE_ANON to a value of 1 for all responses collected through an anonymous link.

  2. Create Dashboard Filter: In your EX dashboard, create a filter or a specific metric that only includes responses where Q_EE_ANON equals 1.

  3. Count Responses: Use a count metric (e.g., in a simple Number Chart widget) within this filtered view to display the total number of respondents who used the QR code/anonymous link.

Since Qualtrics EX doesn't have a native QR code feature, this method relies on the use of an externally generated QR code pointing to the standard anonymous survey link.
