Topic: Allow Text Entry
When multiple-choice questions are used, respondents are required to choose the answer choice that they believe to be true, but what happens when the respondent deems all of the answer choices incorrect? These situations are where you most commonly see the “Other” answer choice implemented.
The Allow Text Entry option lets you add a text box to your answer choice so respondents can enter their own unique responses. You can also add text entry validation so you can ensure that when that choice is selected, the text box is required to be filled out. By allowing respondents to add their own answers we increase the validity and accuracy of our data while also reducing potential bias caused by limited responses.

Where to find this feature:
- Select the answer choice you’d like to add text entry to.
- Click the arrow next to the answer choice.
- Select Allow Text Entry.
