Hello! Are you able to embed a recorded one hour PowerPoint presentation or any type of recorded video into Qualtrics?

Hi @kadiaddy ,

Would this be to watch whilst answering a survey or to display in a dashboard?  There will be a number of factors you need to consider such as the devices that it will be watched on or do they need to answer questions whilst watching the video or something?  Is this for internal corporate or public viewing?

My first suggest would be to save the video as an MP4 and then upload to sharepoint, vimeo or Youtube. In youtube you’d make sure it’s a private link so it can only be accessed via the link and not via someone searching for it within youtube.  Sharepoint will have similar settings but I’m not sure about Vimeo.  The reason I say youtube is because that will handle the types of streaming or bandwidths AND also help you prepare the HTML code needed to embed it.

What I have done in the past is in the survey I’ve used an iframe and embedded PDFs, which have been hosted in both the Qualtrics library and other sources.  An iframe will work for videos too.

Assuming you want this in a survey start by creating a test / test graphic question and goto the HTML view.  Below is some starter code for you that you can paste into the HTML view (acquired from chatGPT!).  Just change the VIdeo_ID to the actual ID or refer to the more sophisticated code that youtube should provide.

<div style="width:100%; max-width:960px; margin:auto;">
<div style="position:relative; padding-bottom:56.25%; height:0; overflow:hidden;">
<iframe
src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VIDEO_ID"
title="Presentation"
style="position:absolute; top:0; left:0; width:100%; height:100%;"
frameborder="0"
allowfullscreen>
</iframe>
</div>
</div>

You should be able to test that in preview mode.

Hope that helps to get you started.  Please confirm if that has answered your question by clicking on the corresponding button or come back with further questions.

Thanks.

So I am creating a research project and my ideal workflow would all be completed through Qualtrics to allow for simple completion for the participants.

They would:

Complete pre intervention questions

Complete one hour educational video

Complete post intervention questions

Then be directed to complete information for continuing education credits

Ideally this could all happen across one Qualtrics link. Would you think this is feasible?

For an hour-long video, you definitely want to do what the last commenter mentioned and upload it to another streaming site. For example, Google drive, YouTube (unlisted videos work), I have used panopto for that as well.

Do you think my proposed workflow is feasible using one Qualtrics link?

I think so - I’d just check the settings in Responses to make sure that responses in progress don’t get autosubmitted after 2 weeks, since it might take a while for someone to get through the video. In the survey, go to Settings → Responses → Incomplete survey responses. Here’s more documentation about that feature.
