I was looking to see if anyone is currently leveraging Pendo and Qualtrics. We have both solutions but want to pull in Pendo feedback so we have all feedback data in one location. Is it worth setting up a Qualtrics survey in Pendo or just work to use Pendo survey and push that feedback into Qualtrics?
Would also want to see how easy it is to set up and what if anything to watch out for.

@MarianaMTD We did implement and it was fairly straight forward from our side. We worked with the Pendo Product Owner in our company and he was able to set it up very quickly using AI for advice (that was over a year ago now). The Qualtrics survey is embedded into a Pendo guide. Metadata is passed from Pendo to Qualtrics. Responses are captured in real-time in Qualtrics.

For us, the key benefit was being able to capture survey data in real-time, allowing us to better utilise workflows and survey logic. Historically, our data was was captured in a pendo poll which was quite restrictive (no randomisation of answer options, limited survey logic etc). It also dealt with the main issue we were having in terms of getting digital implemented which was the governance piece. The Pendo Product Owner can still govern who sees what and ensure users aren’t getting too many pop-ups.

Some of the limitations:

  • Dynamic pop-ups: We are not able to be flexible with when a survey appears. e.g., we’d ideally like to pop up Xseconds after someone visits a page. Pendo is more black and white. It either loads when someone lands on a page, or if they are idle on a page for X seconds
  • There’s a bit of tweaking to do in terms of the dimensions of the box. As we don’t have ownership of the pendo piece, there’s more collaboration required than if we were just using digital and could tweak ourselves.
  • Response Rate - In Qualtrics, we can see the number of people who saw the guide but didn’t participate. We only see data for those who submitted a response. If we want to measure response rates, we need to take the ‘Views’ figure from Pendo.

Happy to answer any other questions you have, if I can. I can also connect with my colleagues if it’s something I can’t answer.

@JustChappell What did you end up doing? Interested in the same use case, but want to learn from someone that did this already.

@JustChappell @etc11b  Did either of you end up utilizing the embedding of a Qualtrics survey in a Pendo guide? And, if so, could you capture any metadata (such as countryID)?

Hi @JustChappell, @clareoflynn and @etc11b

I’d like to know if anyone has already implemented an integration between Pendo and Qualtrics.

From what I’ve seen, the integration seems relatively straightforward, but I’d like to understand from real experience:

  • Is the setup as simple as it appears?
  • Does the feedback/data from Pendo come through correctly into Qualtrics?
  • Are there any limitations, issues, or points to watch out for during the integration?

Any insights or lessons learned would be really helpful.
