Mysterious time delay when changing User status from disabled to active before you can export survey data

Question

Hi All, I have setup a script which exports survey data in order to do a full search as apposed to the data privacy tool that Qualtrics offers (but doesn’t work properly!  but that’s another story!).  My script works through the report of surveys using my credentials and API token but for the ones I don’t have access to I switch to the owners API token I have saved elsewhere.  The problem occurs though in that I get a 401 code when trying the export api command which means that user is unauthorised.  These users I’ve discovered have left and are set to disabled. So my solution was to change their status by the users API and then continue processing (using their API token instead of mine).  However, i was finding some odd results in that I was still getting the 401 code but then on other occasions i wasn’t.  After checking everything I discovered that the 401 goes away and you get the normal 200 status code after 60 seconds.  Without fail - count to 60 and then you can access the data. Has anyone else experienced this?  Is this documented somewhere? Thanks Rod Pestell

I’ve experienced delays sometimes when setting up calls on the wrong datacenter (developing in sandbox on pdx1 and implementing in prod on yul1) and ending up with proxied requests, but never a consistent 60-second delay like you describe.
