Adding additional metadata after survey completion

I was wondering if adding additional metadata to the participant list is possible after completion of survey, and the impact it would have with current response data.
I created and completed an engagement survey with over 50k responses, and I am currently creating a dashboard for it. I realized that one of the metrics/fields they are looking for is "Tenure", which was not included in the original participant list.
I was thinking to just get the UniqueID, First Name, Last Name, Email, then adding that additional metadata of Tenure, then importing it in the current participant list. Would that remove all the other metadata? Would it effect the recorded responses for all those participants?
I wanted to try it out, I'm just afraid that the 50k responses will be lost, meaning there will be bad consequences if it happens. 😅 I wanted to duplicate the survey but the responses don't go along with it, so I have nowhere to test that theory.

    You can definitely add an additional embedded data by keeping in mind the deduplication settings and then importing the file in the directory and wouldn't delete anything already available. But that still wouldn't fill the data within responses in survey and wouldn't be shown on dashboard. For it, you would have to use this API and based on response id you can run it for all at once and update dataset to show on dashboard. Keep in mind record date as well while using this API
