Choosing the optimal type of question for the survey

Hello,

 

I'm trying to create my first survey and I'm wondering if a Matrix table is appropriate for the following case. The survey will contain several questions in three blocks that approximately 20 respondents will have to answer. Each question concerns a different customer, i.e. the respondent answers the same set of questions about each customer. There may be about 15 customers. Is a matrix in which questions are placed in columns and customers in rows the optimal solution? Is there another method to create such a survey, especially in terms of obtaining raw data from such a survey.

In most cases it is probably easier for respondents to answer questions customer by customer. So, you would have a section for Customer A with questions 1-9, then a section for Customer B with questions 1-9, and so on.

The exception would be in a situation where you are asking the respondents to compare/rank all 15 customers with one another; in that case, I would have question 1 in a Matrix, and list all 15 customers, then question 2 in a different Matrix with all 15 customers listed, and so on.

In either scenario, the comment for best or worst answer should be a separate text question.

Without knowing how many questions you’re asking about each customer, and what type(s) of questions they are, it’s hard to say for sure. But if you have more than two or three questions per customer, and the type of questions vary, I would not recommend using a Matrix or Side-by-Side question type. Even though they would be easier to program, organizing the questions that way will be very hard for the respondents to answer.

Hello,

These are 9 questions arranged in three blocks (three questions in a block) to which respondents can answer by selecting one of five answers.

However, I would like the respondent to be able to add a text comment when choosing the best or worst answer.

Respondents answer the same questions for customers, in other words, there are the same questions for each customer.

I don't need logic for the survey, the respondent answers all questions for each customer.

Respondent must provide 135 replies for 15 customers
