Errant edits in Data & Analysis tab. New glitch?

I’ve noticed over the past few days, when the Data & Analysis tab refreshes, if the cursor is active in a cell, that cell doesn’t refresh with the rest of the page anymore. So, when changing to another page or adding/clearing a filter, when the new data appears, that active cell’s data will overwrite whatever data should be there. If I’m making other edits and don’t realize that change, I save and have dirtied my data.

This is new. I reported it to support and was told it is “intended functionality”. I can’t fathom why this would be intended. There is no scenario I can come up with in which this is helpful.
