Feedback on the new email distribution interface / experience

Hi, I wanted to contribute to the discussion on the new distribution experience, as unfortunately it is causing a lot of problems for my colleagues and I!

Email distributions are the sole feature we use for data collection in our ongoing clinical trial and the new distribution experience has significantly lengthened the time needed to schedule questionnaires to go out, which we are doing individually for over 300 participants!

The old/legacy experience is much simpler and more user friendly for the following reasons:

  • The pop up window where the entire message and required fields are together (i.e., recipient, from, subject, message, advanced options) is much more cohesive instead of these sections being separated on many entirely different screens
  • The pop up menus with drop down options in their dedicated sections (such as subject and message) helps avoid errors as opposed to these groups being under the same drop-down on the new version
    • The drop downs are wide enough to read easily in the legacy experience
  • Reminders are clustered with the original distribution, which helps avoid missing/double booking a reminder
  • Able to set a custom date for reminders (rather than number of days), with the calendar pop-up to select a date, which helps to avoid incorrect scheduling
  • Advanced options (link expiry) clearly visible from the beginning of scheduling the distribution (whereas in the new version this comes later and it not as obvious) which is important for us to control

If there is any way that the old/legacy experience can remain as the default distribution setting that would be much appreciated! Otherwise we feel the new experience needs vast improvements to be feasible for real-life, practice use -- we’re heavily dreading the amount of admin time it would currently add for us to schedule questionnaires for over 300 participants.

Thank you!

I 100% agree. In my work, we schedule follow-up surveys via email and this new interface is not helpful in any way.

All four of the existing features that TaraJ mentions will become pain points for my processing in the future. Especially removing the calendar picker for scheduling. Some of my follow-ups are 18 months out with a couple of reminders.

Another item is that in the “old/Better” format, I can see the # recipients from the summary screen without needing to drill down.

I realize this is a forum, but will be sending this feedback via support as well.
