I have a list of postal codes that are the only postal codes that satisfy eligibility before entering the full survey. I have a question that asks participants to input the first three letters of their own postal codes.
Is there a way to link the postal codes so that the "system" queries it and identifies where the respondent is referring to in another question. Like another question that asks "Have you lived _________ for at least 8 months of the year even if your primary residence is located outside this region?" after someone puts in their postal code or is there a simple alternative?

If you are in the U.S., you can add embedded data fields QCity_Qx and QState_Qx to your survey flow (where Qx is the zip code question label). You can then pipe those embedded fields later in the survey.
I don't think that works for other countries, but you could try it to confirm. For other countries you can use a web service and postal code database to lookup the location info and populate embedded data fields.

I can try that US solution but i'm not exactly the most experienced yet. Is there a tutorial on the webservice application to populate the data fields?

You need a web service to look up the postal code. You could build your own on a web server or use a service like geocoder.ca.
